Okay, here is the latest for this Saturday. I talked to Grega and we are going to try to play earlier this time. As of right now I'm proposing 11am, same court. If we play earlier we should be able to play full court.

doubt I will make it man - too many people not enough courts. Plus I had to pay 3$ to park last time...

Plus 59 was so messed up it took me an hour to get home...

So can somebody tell me where to park? I would make it if I knew where to park.

I didn't have to pay to park, I just avoided gates. I parked near entrance 16. Also there are many alternatives to 59. I think Beechnut or Bissonet or one of those would work. Someone more familiar with the area could spout out a bunch of ways to avoid 59.

I exited Richmond off the 610 Loop, and kept going all the way to Buffalo Speedway. Then I took the feeder to that one road where I turn Right to the Campus.

If you are coming from the Southwest, exiting Westpark before the 610 loop is good. That leads to Kirby, or you can get to the 59 feeder at several opportunities before Kirby.

    Sonny,

if you are coming from south or north 45 or North 59, just take 288 when it splits from 59. This will take you to Medical Center exits. Take the MacGregor exit (which travels around Hermann Park), and this will get you to S. Main at Rice University.

    B,

I'm about as sore as it gets. I should have quit after the full court. I'll try to make it on the 28th.

for future Saturday after this weekend, the Rice outdoor court is no good, imo. Check out Spotts Park (Waugh/Memorial) and the Lanier Middle School (Shephard and Westheimer). They both have 3 full courts and 8 baskets.

Spotts Park sounds like a better option to me then, if it has 3 full courts. Can anyone verify that it is still around and open to the public on weekends?

Heypartner- I played in the full court game, but did not get to meet you. What do you look like? (Just like to put a face with the name).

I only got to meet Sonny in the full court game, who all else played?

I was the bearded guy who led in turnovers. You also met Gutter Snipe who came in for me after I went down.

B- I thought that was you, we were on the same team for the full court game (victory!) & the first half court game.

    B,

Spotts Park is confirmed still unchanged. It is a city park, so is open to first come. What I suggest is making certain it has good nets, though, before you switch from Rice. Lanier is a block from where I live, and that has enough nets and good backboards and is available.

RRG, I had the brown rain cover pants with green shirt.

So, was that you I was guarding Sonny? You're the one who can only go left. ;) j/k Sonny crossed me over after testing me twice to the left...and I was all ready for it and everything. He keeps it very low. Well done.

I had some fun in the full court game, but that 1st half court game was pretty boring with the 2 Rice students trying all the clearouts and 3s without ever picking for anyone. I to think I was feeling guilty for driving when I still had my legs.

I think we will have better games as we play more. We really need to get into a league or something, or find some indoor for each Thursday.

i used to play at lanier 2 or 3 times a week but haven't been there in a while, it's not bad at all though.

there's also a court at southside place park inside west u, between university and bellaire, that NEVER gets used. it probably has my favorite public goals - very, very soft rims for shootin but unfortunately they are set up for 2 half court games, no full court available. i can almost guarantee it will be empty though.

then there's robert's elementary which is on greenbriar off holcombe. they have a covered court and an outside court with 2 fullcourts available. i haven't been there in about a year but it was pretty desolate other than my friends.

just some ideas but i'm down for wherever. i hope i actually get to make it out this time.

Sounded like a lot of fun. Quick question, did you guys play on indoor or outdoor courts? If outdoor, how was the weather? I've never played ball in the Rice area so I woudn't know the setup. Anytime you guys get a game going, I'm always down. Gotta stay in shape!:D

Nah that wasn't me man, I was playing on your team in that first full court game. You tried to hit me with about 3 different passes, you just kept missing though! :D

Are you guys going to have a definite location on Friday evening?

Comfirm the place, and I will study my maps, and I'll be there. Maybe.
