yes way dude, get that hobbit ankle of yours fixed my puter died last week, send me an email and I'll give ya some more details
Great. I actually am about 85-90%, I played Ultimate Frisbee on Saturday and it felt great although I've temporarily lost a little hops. I'll drop you an email in the morning Mate.
October 4th. Everybody take your Vitamins. Slam those b12s, and Vitamin Cs. I played last friday, and I got hurt bad. I jammed my right middle, and ring finger. I hurt my shoulders going for a block. I chipped a tooth. These mothers are 5 10, 5 11, 180-190 lbs. Yet, I am playing in the lane, trying to get rebounds, and putbacks.
Thanks for supporting this guys. I agree that the 13th is way too soon. October 4th it is... Now, "where" is the biggest question. So far, Cypresswood Park, UofH (costs $), and the new park downtown (pending completion and availability) have been suggested. I'm in the Northwest part of town. So everyone that wants to play on October 4th suggest a court and if it's not one of the previous three, let us know why it would be better. So far there is interest from: Subliminal Shot (me) Tonaaayyyy Kam Rockets Red Glare BiGGieStuFF yaonotyo LegendZ3 OldManBernie Sonny Smeggysmeg DonnyMost DLS cjt123 blu_monkey pradaxpimp JiggajaMzZ Chicken Boy JayZ750 h-townfan let me know if you want to be added to the "interested list" and I will edit this post and add your name... I'll just keep checking this thread. Help spread the word. This first one is more of a casual thing and then when we plan games, they can get more formal. PS, Texans are the shizl'!!!!!! what a game!
Are you talking about Meyer Park? I've seen that park, but never been there. How is that place? And how many courts does it have, and how many people are there. Could you give me the details about it. I live in northwest Houston too.
Actually, Cypresswood Park is just across Stubner on Cypresswood (seems like less than a mile from Meyer Park. Meyer Park is basically an extremly nice soccer park. Cypresswood Park is the really nice baseball park that has great basketball courts and soccer fields too.) Cypresswood park is right next to the Cypresswood Police Station. It's a 6 goal covered court that got remodeled at the beginning of the year. It's a very nice park in an extremely nice area. How many people completely depends on when you go. I'm actually going up there at about 4pm today.
Now I'm not sure how long we will be playing but http://www.hit-away.com/ has indoor courts that are available for reservation. 30/hour (1/2 court) 50/hour (full court). Now if we only have 10 for full court that's 10 dollars a person. I'd say if we have that many people renting it for 2 hours split by almost 20 people on the list there would equal about 10 bucks a person maybe little more or less. But at least we would have the court all to ourselves. My second recommendation would be UH but I'm not sure how many guests are allowed per student or alumni. There are other gyms you can reserve but I can't remember where they are. I've never been to the hit-away facilities but they sound promising. Anyone close by want to check it out?
I play at an outdoor court that is right down the street from there. It will more than likely be empty on a Saturday afternoon. It may be a bit of a drive for some people. It is a nice outdoor court (covered).
Yeah anywhere is fine for me as long as it's not too hot and muggy or raining. I'm just ready to get schooled!! I mean...start educating others..make them...ah nevermind..too late!! . I'm not that good at this trash talking
I know the owner of hit-away and I pretty much know ever baller that goes there and when.. lol It's all the way out in tomball and you are playing on matted tiles. The goals are great and adjustable but it's kind of an odd feeling playing on those tiles. I'll keep that court in mind but seems like a Tomball court isn't "distance friendly" for most people. But definitely let me know if you find out about any other rentable courts. Thanks again
Rockets Red Glare, are you talking about Spring Creek Park? The one just down the street from Tomball College on Brown Rd. off of 249? That one is the same shape as Cypresswood's but Cypresswood is newer and kept up better. Plus, the last tree times I've been to Spring Creek for basketball, there were was this same group of drugies running around the court causing problems and starting fights...
No I am talking about MLK park. You turn off of 249 (right in Tomball before the railroad tracks) by the Midas (or is it Minake). It is about .25 miles down on the left. I used to play at Spring Creek Park & Samuel Mathews parks all of the time. Depending when you started playing there I bet we have played together.
My good buddy is one of the supervisors there, I'm pretty sure I could get any number of people I wanted in for free.
Actually if your under 22 or 23, I forget, it's only 4 bucks now. And if your older than that it's either 6 or 8 dollars. I think it's 6 dollars but not sure.
