    Seriously, this is amazingly complex.

I guess it all comes down to the large, managable contracts and exceptions that we hold.

I would be very, very surprised, If we don't come out of this "Melo deal" with something nice.

    Devin Harris
    Nene Hilario

Are the only two players on the board that could be worthwhile, or some draftpicks...

Ouch, I think I'd rather avoid Johan Petro and Travis Outlaw. :)

I really like this deal. Makes a lot of sense for all teams involved. Rockets get Nene and Wallace makes us an instant playoff contender in the WEST. We would realistically be 3rd or 4th best team in WEST behind Lakers,Mavs,Spurs (no particular order). The Suns didn't get significantly better with their recent trade, Portland is declining, and Utah is slightly above average (5th).

Wallace and Nene are not OLD players either, plus you will still have Hill,Williams,Lee,Lowry for athleticism and youth. I would still like to see the Rockets land Anthony Randolph and develop him for the future because he can do a lot of things on the court and his value is about as low as i think it will ever be.

    Lowry/Ish
    Martin/Lee
    Wallace/Williams
    Scola/Hill/RANDOLPH
    Nene/Miller/Hayes

This would be a very competitive team

Hey, if we can get a 1st round pick with the only valuable asset being given up is a trade exception, I'm all for it.

Outlaw signed a huge contract though.

But whatever contract we take back will cost us double.

I've been wondering why SI interviewed DM about Rockets status with Yao and his future with the team, and the chronicle didn't, nor Freidman from Rockets.com. Or did they?

It would be a bad business and basketball decision if they didn't trade his contract...although it would be obvious that if or when they did, he'd be bought out or since he's injured, could still stay in Houston and wait out the season...then eventually return to the Rockets.

Gotta love loopholes. Right on time too before the new CBA. I'm sure next season either a player would have to wait until the following season to return to the team that traded him or extend the days from 30 to 60 or whatever.

I can give you a hypothetical thats real for the rockets and the fan base. Nene aint coming here, but maybe someone like anderson or turiaf can as another center.

Why do people want Chris Andersen on this team???

He never played more then 22min per game during a season, and never played more then 76 games, and then people hate the "luck" we have with injuries. If you don´t want injuries to happen, don´t support the acquisition of players with injury problems, it is that simple. Don´t get me wrong, I love his craziness, that allows him to block shots like crazy, but the amount of injuries are too much for me to trust his health.

Actually I would love to have J.R, for one year (atleast) I would like to see him play the SF position (don´t hate, even if coming off the bench and making experiences with him). He is a 6´6 dude, with quickness and jumping abilities that could play defense on bigger guys. People would say that his defense is not good, I actually think his problem on D is consistency, he sometimes plays very active D, but the next possession he just quits. I think consistency is his problem overall as a player, but I like is craziness, I think that this kind of players tend to get better and more mature with age(he is only 25), and with good solid coaches.
I think he is better offensively playing the 3 spot, he is a stud shooting the 3 ball, and he has the penetration game, he is bad shooting the mid-range game, and that is the reason why I think he is more suited for the 3 spot then the 2.
Plus he grabs a lot of rebs for his position, so when playing the 3 spot he can be active on the boards.

Don´t get me wrong, we desperately need a C, but not Birdman in my opinion.

I know you are just throwing out players that could end up here....but blaaaah puke to both. Actually, I wouldn't mind that thug birdman but the dude can't stay healthy. Also I'm guessing that one of our centers would be on the move too if we acquired birdman.

I'd imagine they'd play Brooks/Harris at the same time since they already do that sometimes with Livingston/Augustin.

Didn't we talk about being "predatory" for the past few years? If you can gain a first rounder and only lose a TE and an insignificant piece, I gotta think you do it.

I hope we get Terrence Williams, I heard he scored 27 points once. Has CBS ever been right about anything before?

There's absolutely no point in being that third team involved if we arent going to get a player that we really need. Being involved in this blockbuster trade to get Harris or any other nets player not named Lopez or Favors is the most idiotic move we can do.

I believe that Houston will send Denver their 2011 first round pick along with New York's 2012 first round pick plus Brooks and get Favors sent this way. I hope to God this happens considering there are rumors of Billups and/or Harrington being involved in the deal. Hell, if it means us getting Favors, throw in Budinger or Williams into the pot as well.

That would make my christmas and new years for both this year and the next.
