Since we are dreaming big with scenarios here, I'm going to say we end up with Lopez and some bad contracts from the nets. :)

    Rockets Starting lineup
    C-lopez
    F-Scola
    F-battier
    G-Martin
    G-lowry

The most interesting part in that whole article to me was that Yao's contract is insured.

That would make it a MASSIVE chip at the bargaining table.

You guys baffle me. Chris Anderson is a good defensive player, but we a LOW POST PRESENCE. If we're to tell me we've been stacking up assets to get Birdman then I'd tell you to fire Morey asap. If anybody I'd want, it would be NENE or JR

I do not think Shane will be traded. He is the leader/heart/soul of our team believe it or not.

To the OP: That is actually a really good trade scenario. We would definitely improve.

It is going to be a really interesting next two months to see what Morey does. I believe they want insurance to pay Yao's contract before we make any moves.

Its hard to just absorb a player to get another player, because we already are near the roster limit.

Suppose we absorbed whomever, Smith, Harrington, Anderson to get whoever. Thats 2 roster spots needed. They would have to cut Ish and buyout Jeffries. I can't see a way were this is feasable.

It would be easier if we knew who Morey was after. I guess Harris is the most realistic.

It's a massive chip but I don't know if Houston will trade Yao unless Yao tells Houston to do it to make the team better. To me, IMO, it would be the moral thing for Yao to do. This chip would help Houston land some pieces that they need.

If he can come back healthy, he can just re-sign with the team during the off season.

If Anderson was a dependable person health wise, it would make sense but I don't trust him being healthy for a whole 82 game season.

I want to know if Houston plans on re-signing Chuck Hayes...

Now that I think about it, snagging Harris makes a lot of sense because it gives us an extra trade chip.

You could then move one of our 3 guards to Charlotte for Wallace.

sometimes i read this board and i wonder if any of you watch the NBA or the rockets? Birdman? seriously? you want the 'birdman'? he is 32 year old +, plays limited minutes for Denver and is a serious head case. If you think teams will 'fear' us in the playoffs because Chris Anderson is our starting center then you know nothing about the NBA and you most likely have some sort of learning disability. Birdman is not worth anything on our roster outside of maybe a future 2nd rounder.

The other trade i saw on the first page of this thread - Scola + Hill + AB + Jeffries + Lee + Hayes + 1st rounders for Billups and Anthony....are you serious? you want to trade over half our team for a 33, 34 year old point guard and a player who will leave us over the summer to go to the Knicks? even if he stayed, who would you play with him after you essentially traded away 70% of our functional rotation to get him? You guys need to get realistic if you are going to post trades out here. This is just unrealistic fantasy world BS i am sorry. i would NEVER support a trade that sends our entire team to Denver for Anthony, who is OVERRATED to start with, Billups and some other trash from Denver, most likely your coveted Birdman who it appears that some of you think is like an uglier version of Wilt Chamberlain. Wow. I would send AB + Battier + Patterson and a 1st rounder to Denver for Billups and Anthony and that is about it and i would hesitate to even make that deal. At the end of the day Carmelo Anthony is a fat punk who will leave us for the Knicks (or any team he goes to) and be out of the NBA before he is 34. Mark my words. He is fat.

Thanks for the information/correction. Another crafty Morey move that increased his options.

If we got JR Smith, I really hope we flip him the same day. I wouldn't want to be the one telling him that he's getting 10 minutes off the bench behind Martin. I guess they *could* try him and Martin at the 2/3 at the same time, but that would be strange.

Some of you guys would rather have BIRDMAN on our team, then Nene or Anthony Randolf

That's not the question. Denver wants to keep Nene, and NYK aren't trying to dump Randolph for a TE.

The question is, which of Denver's guys that they want to lose would you want to take back:
Anderson, Smith, and Harrington are your choices.

Given that the Rockets are involved as a potential third team, we'd almost certainly be taking one or two of those guys in exchange for a TE.
