How do you know if you have a HOF coach if you don't let him coach?

Agree with OMR, out of the 3, i'd go with Casey, he does have some experience overseas which can be helpful. was hoping they hired one of the ex-players but i knew that was a long shot, like Rockets winning the #1 pick yesterday. but i do hope either Sam or Mario gets to be assistant.

What you are really losing is a Hall of Fame offensive system. Elston Turner was the coach on the staff considered the "defensive coordinator." Adelman ran the teams offense, wrote up play's, handled roster rotations, and handled the media portion of the job.

This front office now is obviously looking to hire a "defensive coordinator" type of head coach to steer the direction of the team to a much more defensive minded approach. IMO, Lawrence Frank and Dwayne Casey are much better hires then Elston Turner if you want to hire a defense minded coach than Turner. These two guys are very similar to Jeff Van Gundy's approach to NBA coaching esspecially Frank.

I expect to see some remnants leftover from the motion based offense that Adelman ran, but overall, NBA teams with good offensive players can still win with more basic offensive sets that this team is capable of running to score enough points to win. However, the defense will be much improved.... lets just hope Kevin Martin, Scola, and Co. can still put the ball in the hoop.

    Anybody but Frank.

I'll take McHale or Casey anyday over Lawrence Frank.

If you want Frank, you might as well just rehire Jeff Van Gundy

Frank looks like a good XandOs guy but might not always have the respect of the players.

    Mchale......

Casey I hope they end up with him.

I hope its casey also i hope we commit to rebuilding...maybe not rebuild but to develop our 4 lotto picks (including this years pick) this season and to at least aquire 2 more high draft picks (with star potential) in the next 2 years and we will be set.

Gotta get better players to have a better defense. 'Better' meaning taller and more athletic around the rim. New coach wont be able to just make our current roster better on defense. Not unless J Hill and Thabeet work their butts off this summer and come in next year very improved players. Jus sayin..

I hope Casey will be HC because McHale would be a disaster, IMO.
Frank is "JVG junior" and I could live with that, but I'd rather have Casey!

Well we had Adelman, but apparently Morey didn't like the fact he only wanted to win:rolleyes:

Hopefully Casey can man up to Willy. I don't think Willy respects Adelman, as an old white man. Besides, Willy and Adelman don't like each other.

If your question hasn't been answered yet here's what Adrian Wojnaroski had to update on Twitter lately:

There's been reports saying that McHale and Frank interviewed with the Warriors this week.

Is this Casey by default now?

Just this season people were questioning Adelman's methods. Posters on here were debating how horrible he was out of timeouts. How he was too stubborn to give anyone a real chance to play unless an injury occured. How he kept playing Aaron no matter how much he was hurting the team.

The Rockets close the season on a high note, and all the sudden y'all forget how frustrated Adelman was making y'all. Look what Poppavich did when he became head coach. Look how Golden State treated their HOF coach. Look at what Dallas did to that same guy. Point is, when it's time to move on, it's time to move on. Adelman doesn't deserve to waste what's left in his career with a mediocre team. Bringing on the youth movement doesn't apply to players only.
