Thanks, DD. I needed a good laugh.

We have wings with more upside. Yes guys we have multiple players with more upside than Kevin Martin. You know the guy that has been dropping 30 spots by halftime.

Not that BS, we have Courtney Lee and TWill. Morey wanted to save salary + blow up the team + go young.

You know, there's a reason that the team with the best center in the NBA paid this guy 10 million to sit on the bench.

It went the same way it did with Dallas:

    Morey: "I'm Interested in Gortat"
Orlando: " it's going to cost you Martin"
Morey: **Morey bursts in Laughter** "No thanks, Bye"

I never thought there was anything to it. Would I be in favor of trading Martin at all? Of course, but in a deal that nets us a piece or pieces of comparable/higher value, fills a need, and is a plus for the team's future. Gortat for Martin did not compute. Heck, the way Martin is playing now, his value would be sky high for a contending team that needed offense.

    No kidding!

It's rare to find players like Martin who score high numbers without many touches. When you have someone like that, you hang on to him and pray you can find an all star to put next to him.

I didn't say it means Martin is no longer in the picture. I said it means Melo isn't coming here. But I do think that Yao going down means Martin is no longer an important part of the Rockets future. And yes, that is me speculating.

While I agree Martin is a rare and special player, I don't agree that you hang on to him on the incredibly slim possibility that an elite talent becomes obtainable. That kind of thinking is exactly how teams remain mired in mediocrity. If Martin is no longer a part of our long term plans (and I have no idea what Morey's long term plan is at this point), then there is no reason not to seek the best deal possible for him to help the Rockets move forward.

Hoping we can steal Lopez from the Suns with this trade now.

Martin wasn't acquired because of how the organization thought he would fit with Yao. He was acquired because this team has had trouble scoring for the last decade. If you really think Morey, Adelman or Les Alexander were truly building this team around Yao then you severely underestimate the intelligence of those men.

Yao going down changes nothing about the direction this franchise is/was heading in.

And I don't believe this rumor. Martin, Scola and Lowry are not going anywhere unless a superstar is coming back in the deal. Morey covets those players far too much.

There has to be more to the story. I think Gortat is a legit starting NBA center...on a team destined for playoff purgatory or a team with 3 superstars already.

Not too surprised that they or we threw martin's name into the mix, contrary to the BBS' beliefs, you can't just trade away your rubbish and get a good player in return.

There is no way this is true unless you are getting a super star back for Martin. It's simple as that.

We should trade him and Luis...though it pains me to do it.....we need to go young with upside.....

Let them grow and take our lumps....use our best players to get draft picks and younger players with upside.

I mean guys that can play both sides Sammy, KMart is an elite scorer, and will be coveted by other teams.

You will waste his prime if he stays here.....go ahead and stockpile young guys and draft picks.

Tear it down...to build it back up.
