even chuck is shooting 75% at the line right now, the rockets don't really have any bad free throw shooters left.

A lot of us doubted that statement was accurate..

Morey had issues with paying the guy the MLE a couple years ago, what did he do since then that it's not only worth paying him that but also give up Martin for him?

    That's not knowing something...

    That's speculating something.

Just cause the team traded away a draft pick for Twill(which was well worth it) to help the Nets possibly get Melo doesn't mean Martin is no longer in the picture. It probably means they view Twill as a special talent worth giving up a later draft pick. Anyway morey already said before about Twill that the team viewed him as a "top talent" in the draft in 09 and had him high on there board.

Martin's scoring is replaceable and Morey wouldn't give that up for a true anchor in the paint? LOL

    Morey is pathetic

You could get a better player than Gortat for Martin.

@KBerg_CBS: Source correcting me: #Rockets didn't offer Kevin Martin for Gortat. They specifically wouldn't offer him

Martin is not going anywhere unless it is for a SUPERSTAR. He is still relatively young, and is one of the best in the league at scoring.

Morey loves him and he is very valuable now and in the future.

i really doubt it. mutombo was much better early on than people realize. he was the anchor of that denver team that shocked the sonics in game 7 in just his 3rd season

Morey did not offer Kmart. It was Orlando who asked thinking that Morey is an IDIOT. No history made. OK?

i see your point. again i will agree with the bolded part, but disagree with the theory. by that i mean, you are comparing our young players upside to that of having martin. what i am doing instead is comparing martin to the value of his cap space and a first round pick.

if you consider that the rockets are rebuilding, you must give them a few years to build another contender. you have to ask, might this player be a contributor during our next era? in 3 years martin will pass his prime as most guards over 30 start to do. in my estimation the answer then is probably no. there is a good chance that he will not be a major contributor in the next era of rockets basketball. same for miller, scola, and battier.

moving pieces like that for cap space, picks, or younger players makes sense because those young players and picks have a better chance of contributing during the next era. think of the thunder. would they rather have ray allen or jeff green? allen is still a better player and even a better fit right now, but when the thunder are ready to contend this guy may not even still be playing while green will still be a contributor.

This makes more sense than the idiotic comments about trading KM because Houston has too many wing players.

Berg just corrected his statement. Orlando wanted Martin and weren't able to meet what Morey's wanted. Richardson was their fall back option.

If Martin is traded, it will take a lot. Not being actively shopped.

Funny how the oh yeah I was right people jump on things stating they knew Martin was likely to be dealt.... Then their support gets proven wrong...

Plus, T-Will and Martin will be excellent playing next to each other. T-Will is the next Iguodala. His defense is the perfect compliment to Martins scoring.

He doesn't have to eat anything. Your trade is garbage. Reserve your whiney, pathetic attempts at oneupmanship to the privacy of your closet.

"Details about this deal are firming up now with ESPN reporting that the Phoenix Suns are very close to finalizing a trade with the Orlando Magic that would send Jason Richardson, Hedo Turkoglu and Earl Clark to the Magic in return Vince Carter, Marcin Gortat, Mickael Pietrus, a 2011 first round draft pick and cash"
