Anyone else find this line funny.

I'm glad the Rockets won this game, but I do think its in large part due to the absence of Kirilenko. He obviously makes the Jazz a whole lot better.

Nice post. Some of you are fighting over which glass should be half full, and which should be half empty. There is no reason we can't run both offensive sets when the opportunity presents itself. Smart teams take advantage... they take advantage of what the other team gives them. They take advantage of turnovers, long rebounds, breakdowns in defense by the other team... they play smart.

We haven't been playing smart for a long time. Now we've got some players who know how to take advantage of whatever presents itself. Got a mismatch inside? Pound it in until they can stop it, or until they've gotten so beat up that their game plan collapses. Your defense gives you fast break chances? Good god in heaven, we have some players now who know what to do. It's still early to see if this change of play is going to stick, but I'm loving it while it lasts, and I hope it just improves.

I still don't like Van Gundy, but if this kind of play becomes the norm, I may have to reconsider what I think of him as a coach. I can't see ever really liking the guy, but who cares? It's starting to be fun watching the Rocks again.

    Ding-ding-ding-ding-ding...we have a winner folks.

Pushing tempo & early transition offense is not mutually exclusive from low post sets. There are many other good examples including the Showtime Lakers and Bird's Celtics.
