The picture quality isn't that great so it's hard to tell, but I think it's definitely not a travel. He plants his left foot down and only steps with his right foot after he picks up his dribble.

He took a jump step into the left foot pivot and another step to the right foot to elevate for the shot, clearly a travel IMO.

ben wallace 7th center???? behind dampier? ilgauskas?Magloire? that si stupid, also Miller, he didn´t even start, I know it is not rockets related but stil it is stupid.
also i like it that Hamilton is high, but Ginobili before carter ok Carter was injured, But Ginobili didn´t even start.
And james and Anthony behind Richard Jefferson,Shawn Marion and Antawn Jamison is also strange.
i do not like this player rankings

I hate kobe almost as much as I hate Karl. But kobe does play better defense than TMac.

He took a jump step, planted his left foot and pivoted on it, elevating for the jumper in the process. No travel.

That is what is referred to as a drop step. Have you ever watched a game with Hakeem in it?????

You're not supposed to take ANY steps after a jump stop, that's all I'm sayin'.

there was a thread about this a couple of weeks back, i do not know what the conclusion was, But i think you can make a pivot after a jump stop.

Nice move by TMac but Bryant's right foot slips out from under him, probably a wet spot on the floor in the paint.

    Bryant is the better player.

I remember watching that game in '02-'03. That was a nasty move by McGrady, but on the very next play, Bryant burned Mcgrady and dunked on 2 Magic players, and then slapped the backboard. It's certainly something to watch those two go at it.

If by winner mentality you mean Shaquille O'Neal then I agree with you. ;)

statistics entirely dont mean that you're a great defender. for example, if you play the passing lanes and go for the steal 6 times and you only end up getting the ball twice and fail 4 times and let your opponent score four times, true you have two steals but the other guy could possibly have 8 pts.

I think every on this board knows there are certain things that jus dont show up on the stat sheet. we saw it for years with hakeem. He may have gotten 3 blocks but he also changed a hell of alot of peoples shot during the game. my point in all of this is that Kobe does things that dont show up on the stat sheet, such as guard the opponents best perimeter player.

that being said, i hope tmac makes him look silly a dozen more times like in that clip this season. :D

I was also wondering what everyone else opinion on the top 10 guards are.

    mine go like this

    1. kobe
    2. tmac
    3. ray allen
    4. vince carter (when healthy)
    5. rip hamilton
    6. micheal finley
    7. micheal redd
    8. manu
    9. corey magette
    10. cat mobely

my next five include: sprewell, doug christie, jason richardson, bonzi wells and....BOSTJAN NACHBAR...jk.
