Um, pretty sure we lose spectacularly in game seven without Vernon Maxwell. Starks missing nearly everything he threw up was a big deal, too -- but Vernon played huge in that game. I think he was shadowing Starks that game, too. Not sure without going back and looking, though so don't quote me on that.
I remember Dikembe Mutumbo had a great comment at halftime at one of the games about the two players. He said he shared Georgetown with Ewing but he shared Africa with Hakeem. He then said that these two men were like two men who have been wondering in a desert and the championship is a drink of water that they are trying to get to.
