Exactly. if people didnt focus on rons negative aspects, they'' truly understand how good he is. he is the best defensive player in the league., yet he has the ability to average 21 on offense. for pure allround ability, only LBJ is better on that list. i dont think folks here truly understand how lucky we got in getting him without giving up anything substantial.
Yes click on the link and scroll down on the left side there are rankings for pf and centres. Yao is ranked 2nd after howard.
Paul Pierce should be ahead of Carmelo. Shawn Marion, Gerald Wallace, and Caron Butler should all be rater higher, IMO.
I think he got those numbers because he was on a good team where all of the attention was on Jermaine O'Neal in the post. Artest played well during his time with the Pacers when they were considered elite in the ECF. Hopefully it's a trend with him and he plays well in this stacked Houston team. I fully expect him to benefit from the attention 111 draws, after all, he's done it before in Indiana. It'll be just like that, except he's got even more room to operate now.
I think "he isn't what he once was" comment is referring to his defense. In his prime, Artest could cover anyone outside of Shaq and maybe Duncan. He still one hell of a defensive player but he can't chase around the small quick ones anymore especially with the hand check rules.
Marion can't create his own shot but he is a great rebounder. I do agree he should be higher than Turkoglu. All the other guys are go to guys. Marion is the ultimate third fiddle.
20. Yi Jianlian, New Jersey: He had a tough first season in Milwaukee, where he didn't want to be, but his skills are real. He is the real deal, and he will begin to excel now. At his size (6-11, 240), he can do some pretty amazing things. Watch for his numbers to rise significantly in his second season. Yi Jianlian is a small forward? I guess the author doesn't have a knowledge about the NBA rosters, otherwise he would not mislocate Yi on the SF. Further, the author has additionally shown he's innocent by ignoring Shane battier. Shane may not be the talented but his hard work has brought him great defensive abilities and brilliant 3pointers. At least, I can guarantee that shane is much better than Yi or Mike Miller. Nevertheless, the idiotic author also neglected another great defender who is simply the nightmire to most 2/3s. Do not ever underestimate a veteran champion's heart and defensive skills. Even though Bruce Bowen doesn't have any striking skills that enable him to score, but his devices for defence makes him the greatest and most dirty defender in the league. Bruce can easily terminate any 2/3 except KB, but who else can lock him up? In a word, this author should pay more attention to the NBA rosters than how to use his stupid articles drawing our critics.
