I think that's exactly what HP was arguing. If the package did NOT make Orlando mediocre, why are WE whining about our mediocrity while that package is belonging to us now? In fact, if that package wasn't mediocrity, why would we want to trade it for Howard?

How do the Rockets rebuild without trading for a star, no THE star player we need, or tanking? There is a limit to what Orlando can take. D-Mo is not stopping any trades from happening. Something along the lines of Howard and Nelson for Martin, Dally, Parsons, and an expiring to make it work. The fight between Houston and Orlando is likely over which PG Orlando gets. Taking back one of Orlando's smaller bad contracts could be enough to make this deal work out for everyone.

That may or may not leave us with enough to make a run this season.

Just heard on the radio a couple minutes ago that Howard now wants to remain in Orlando at least until the end of the season .... Sounds like this thread is dead.

Right now most think Howard is bluffing the Orlando management----probably makes zero difference in what Howard wants these next two days before it all goes down.

Just heard Luis Scola wants to finish out the season with the Rockets... This will really mess up Morey's plans

Sounds like a good plan to sell Les on a true rebuild. I'm 100% sure Morey knows this.

Of course he 'wants' to. One of the most credible journalist in sports just accused him of planning to leave the Magic high and dry. If you were trying to cover your reputation, this is exactly what you would say.

I love you so much for being someone else who actually thinks this logically. How people think "if they let him walk, they get nothing!" is better than "if he walks, we now have cap space to go after the players WE want" is astonishing.

Cap space to sign players you want >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Mediocre players who you don't want and will keep you from signing the players you do want.

before creating all yalls trade scenarios keep in mind that this report was posted BEFORE Dwights comments after beating the Magic.

That means for Dwight to be traded, Magic have believe that they cannot contend this year. Dwight will leave no matter what, I just dont know if Orlando can accept that.

Who cares if Howard wants to finish the season in Orlando if he walks away for nothing in July? The Magic could at least unload some bad contracts in shifting Howard. It's better than having JJ Redick and Hedo Turkoglu as your franchise cornerstones.

I still am not sure why Dwight saying he wants to stay in Orlando until the end of the year (whether true or not) matters one damn bit to this scenario.

As if Orlando does or should give a damn what DH wants, knowing there is no way he is resigning.

If Dwight leaves and even if they keep those bad contracts they'll have cap space next free agency and in 2013 anyway.

Wouldn't a move like this ruin the Rockets for a few years or more?? I mean, we already know whats going to happen. He will leave at the end of the season and we will be stuck with a gutted team and no picks.

If we trade Dragic, Martin, Dalembert and the Knicks pick for Howard, Von Wafer and Ish Smith, we would still have cap room to sign DWill in the offseason if we amnesty Scola. That is, assuming Dwight wants to stay, and DWill and Lowry could co-exist.
