Again, on what though? Our rotation is already really well fleshed out. Depending on what Howard agrees to...$20.2M or $19.7M...we can have:

Lin, Harden, Parsons, Asik or JSmith, Howard, Bev, Canaan, DMo, TJones, (maybe GSmith), then sign a rotation wing for our Room MLE of $2.6M. Plenty. That's assuming we get NO vet min players. I just don't see why we'd lose our starting PG, even if our backup PG is competent, for... air???

My point was he played PF for a number of yrs and NEVER had a midrange game. I think he's fast enough to guard the perimeter, though yes, on offense he wouldn't be able to be a stretch 4. Not saying Asik/Howard would be perfect, but it is possibly worth a try. Run double screens, w/ Asik running a high pick. Would work beautifully imo.

But getting JSmith for Asik makes more sense to me. We get perimeter defense as well then while not sacrificing speed or even offense (in a way).

Maybe, Howard didn't work that well w/Nash. But, Lakers have Nash and Kobi, do they want another ball-dominate guy?

No i completely understand where you're coming from, but we both know that Morey is all about flexibility, I'm just speculating as to how he would value the flexibility of the drop in Lin's salary, but given he wants a starting PG in return for Lin, its hard to see how (if any) drop in salary there would be. This is a guy who declined to give Dragic a player option.

But personally I'd love to see Lin stay, I really think he'll kick on with a full offseasons and his work ethic, but with that said I wouldn't be surprised if Morey does do something.

You feel Jack will get an $8M contract?

Maybe I should have used a different example...lol. I didn't figure he'd pull that much.

    But, it's possible I guess.

If they're that confident in Bev and Canaan - but NEED that salary for upgrading the four - say for Josh Smith or Millsap - then it makes sense.

I hear everyone talking about moving Asik, but you NEED two defensive minded big men. I wouldn't rush to move Asik just 'cause we sign Dwight.

I mean if you could have Lin, Bev, Cannan, Josh/Millsap and Dwight - would you take that over Bev, Cannan, vet PG, Josh/Millsap, Asik and Dwight?

I don't know that I would. Especially when Harden can handle the point if need be as well.

More like- b/c he's Asian. All these racist haters would rather have point guards that aren't nearly as good such as Ellis, Calderon or even Lowry. Way to go "Rockets" fans...

And remember, I want Lin to stay if possible. Would love to see him this year with the new additions Morey makes.

(plus want to see him redeem himself and shut up some of the idiots here who talk out of thier a$$es)

Very much doubt our FO expects Beverly, Canaan & Harden to fill our guard needs. I expect Morey wants a starting-caliber PG on a cheaper contract than Lin in return. It's a long shot; the league is flush with talented PGs, but cheap starter PGs not so much.

CP3 off the table only happened yesterday. He was putting these feelers out long before then. And it doesn't mean the young PFs haven't been put out there as well just because it hasn't been reported.

People have to remember that a trade involves two parties getting what they want. Sure some think its better to trade Lin for J.Smith but thats not what Atlanta wants. Its been known since the trade deadline that Atlanta are interested in Asik.

This is why I think Lin doesnt get moved. Morey doesnt seem comfortable with Beverley and rookie Canaan having to man the point duties, if he really wants a starting PG in return then We will struggle to find one where both parties are willing, and we manage to somehow shed salary. Lin's contract isn't even that bad. He's slightly overpayed. Thats it. Unless its for a 3rd star I'd wanna keep Asik and Lin.

Lin isn't even a bad player, just on a bad contract.

He would be an excellent 6th man to have if he wasnt on 8m p/y.

People keep calling him a cash cow but we're receiving no offers at the moment.

It's not insulting to the ones who it rings true for. I'm not saying that everyone who wants Lin traded is racist- but people who make up stories of how bad he shoots or how he "plays like he's scared" or "isn't good enough to play in the NBA" etc etc etc aren't looking at the facts but rather projecting their bias that b/c the dude's Asian, he must not be able to play well. And don't go telling me about how we all loved Yao b/c everyone thought he was a bust for half a season until he started to dominate. But b/c Lin has only played pretty well instead of at Linsanity level, everyone thinks the dude can't play and that simply isn't the fact.

Actually I wasn't. Just sick of reading all these comments of how we would be better off with point guards who either shoot worse than Lin, are more turnover prone or more injury prone.

If we can get Chris Paul and Lin is involved- heck yea I'm in. If we get Tony Parker for Lin, I'm in. If we are talking about getting Calderon or Lowry or Ellis or starting Beverley... count me out.

If Morey thinks Beverley can be a starter, he can simply ask for a non-descript mediocre PG back in any Lin trade. I'm certain this is easy to accomplish given how many of these players exist. Also, should the Rockets get less salary back in any Lin trade, they can seek out a FA PG.

Long term wise, the Rockets have Llul in Spain to be a 3rd guard. If he's as good as Rosas thinks he is based on Rosas' podcast, then he'd easily be worth a big chunk of MLE we'll need to spend to bring him over.

I heard Portland want to trade Adridge. SO the Rockets should give them Asik. Either trade him for Adridge or Atlanta for Smith.

I also heard Lakers are after some of these Rockets shooters like Delfino, Garcia and formerly Budinger. Rockets need to sign Deflino and Garcia back w/ their EXCEPTIONS.

One of the Rockets own stats gurus seemed to man crushing on Beverly the last few months on Twitter. "performance forecasting" is listed in his job description for the Rockets.

Then again moving Lin might not be about Lin at all but they just really believe in Parsons. The only way they'll truly know how good Parsons can be is to give him the role where he's able to demonstrate what he can or cannot be. If this is the case Lin will be a ball dominant guard relegated down to being the 4th guy (if Dwights signs) when he struggled being no.2 this year.

Note ball dominant isn't used as a dirty word here. For eg, Calderon struggled with inconsistency when the Raptors added Jarrett Jack? a few years back. That team had 3 playmakers needing the ball. More recently Evan Turner's game improved when Iggy was moved and he saw more opportunities in that role.
