Which means he would be a max player in the new CBA.

If you don't see something on the buffet you want to eat then don't take anything from the bar.

Don't grab something you really don't want simply because those around you took something from the bar.

That makes it only slightly less appalling.

He's worth about an MLE, max.

Can some one explain to me why Phili would WANT Hinrich?

he has 2 years left in a $9 mil. deal.

They already have Lou Williams making $5 mil.

people need to give up this quest for Iggy.

    IT WON'T HAPPEN.

People are hoping for a blockbuster move at the deadline....but the reality is that there won't be a move more than likely unless it is to get under the LT.

Your main point (about Iggy) is taken, but I think Hinrich's salary drops to about $7 mil per in 2010-11 and 2011-12. Slightly more palatable.

EDIT: Oops. Just read back a few posts. 9 mil and 8 mil or something like that.

    my guess is minny.

Either way, if we are giving up Tmac AND Scola, we will get back an impact player that is for sure and a PF/C to replace Scola (either a starter or a backup for Landry).

Tyrus is not an impact player, and I doubt if Minny wants to give up Al Jefferson who I like, but I'm concerned about his knee injury. I don't think Minny would want an older Luis for a younger Kevin Love either. Love is a good player, but I'm not interested in him.

I know Morey has a deserved reputation for finding talent in the draft, but how do we turn that into a valuable asset if we can't get them playing time?

Seems like our rotation is too full to start developing more Brooks/Landry/Budinger types.

It works for Philly because they are a couple of years closer to fixing their team salary.

    To Chicago:
    McGrady
    Dalembert

    To Houston:
    Iguodala
    Salmons
    Green

    To Philly:
    Miller
    Hinrich
    Thomas

Does this help Chicago's cap position? Is Thomas enough to convince Philly to let Iguodala go?

Trade make zero sense for us because we don't need another PG (he makes $5 mil for 3 more years. Kiss AB or Lowry Bye.

We would have to trade Battier or Ariza. Battier will be easier but only this summer.

Chicago is trying to DUMP salary not add $14 million (trade kicker included) for next year.

Why does Phili want to pay MORE for a point guard when they pay Williams $4 mil less.

    think your trades through. :)

    I don't want K-Mart. I prefer Deng.

Deng is young, plays solid defense, and is well-rounded on the offensive end.

The biggest issue to my mind is that we need a long-term solution at backup center who is starting quality (doesn't have to be a great player, but at least an okay one) that's not too expensive.

That's why I like the idea of getting Deng and Gortat. They are 24 and 25 respectively and we'd have young players to build around at every position then.

Yes, Deng's contract sucks but I think he still has upside left to become a star, and he's already a very good player.

I'm fine with Deng, but not with Gortat. There is no doubt that we do need a good backup center. I just feel Gortat is overpriced despite making the MLE.

If we do acquire Deng(which I doubt),how will it effect our ability to re-sign Luis and Lowry, provided they aren't involved in a trade for him?

Well, in the trade I posted above I was suggesting going after Deng, Gortat, and Bass, and including Luis, Budinger, McGrady, and a pick in the trade.

That way we'd basically be set and wouldn't need to make anymore moves in the off-season or otherwise.

Bass for Luis would be fine with me,even though I like the latter a lot. I've thought about it before. I don't know if the Magic will agree to it though.

We get Iguodala, the other two are salary dumps for Philly. It has nothing to do with a PG

Dumping either one of those to get Iggy is fine

Chicago dumps Hinrich + Salmons which is 15 million, they only take back Dalemberts salary, which even with the kicker is less. They also escape from Hinirchs deal.

Philly dumps Dalembert AND Kapono salary at the cost of Iggy, while still adding a young piece in Thomas. Yes they take back Hinirch but his salary is less than Dalembert and Kaponos

Think your responses through, it works for all sides, the only question is if the tiny added cape space helps Chicago and whether or not Philly actually likes Thomas.

now that I look at it, I thought you had Williams instead of Green. That would be great for us but not sure if the other teams would go for it.
