Um, because Paul has very minimal control over where he plays the next two years, whereas if Bosh didn't want to come here, he wasn't coming?

Maybe assets is the wrong word, but werent they close to getting him earlier this offseason for something Nelson, Carter, and other stuff? I could see New Orleans bite on such a thing. Even though you dont need a PG, you get Nelson, Carter's contract is up within the next 2 years, throw in some picks, and you ship him off the Eastern Conference. Yeah, some other teams could perhaps beat that but..of the teams on his supposed wish list.

If they move Paul now they will not do it to "help him out".

He just spat in their face and If he leaves the Franchise is in Rebuild mode very quickly.

I'm sure they'd try hard to dump as much salary to move him and wouldn't care less where HE wants to go.

If a player is not going to sign a contract extension, giving any valuable assets for essentially one year (the next is the lockout) would doom this franchise for mediocrity for years to come.

I have no problem going for him IF he wants to play here and sign an extension otherwise....

JUST LIKE I TOLD EVERYONE ABOUT BOSH.....if a player doesn't want to be here, there is no reason for us to waste our time going after him.

it just how it works? come on dude... listing off big names being traded out of their division doesn't prove your point... simple math will tell you there are just MORE opportunities to trade out of the division than within(25 teams rather than just 4) ... i can guarantee you that no gm ever said "well they have the best offer, but we just can't do it cause they are in our division"... makes no sense... if you don't win the division it doesn't eliminate you from the playoffs...hell you can get 3rd in the division and still be the 5th overall seed with home court in the first round... not to mention if NO is trading paul are they really expecting to be better than the rest of the division anyways?

It is only a waste of time. . . if you don't win . .. right?
why try anything if you not GUARANTEED VICTORY?

No, it would be a waste to get a guy, play him for 1 year...then have a lockout, and then watch him bail......doesn't make much sense.

And, he has been injured a bit lately, and demands the ball a lot.....assists are very overated anyway.....

It's a waste of time because a CP trade will likely keep Aaron Brook's penis away from DD. Might cost him Budinger, too.

LOL at DD nitpicking at FREAKING CHRIS PAUL...

The guy is a nearly perfect basketball player. He is sooooooo much better than ANY player that we have. His defense and his tempo would make us instant title threats. Well worth the minimal risk...

I don't like the guy, never have, think he is a punk, and we aren't getting him anyway...so....whatever.

If Morey somehow lands him, we have to convince him to change his # from 3.

    It is cursed in Houston.
