so in 5 seconds I have one exception that they can use. I told you I didnt know the names or the amounts...didnt really care to ever look it up. But they had access to them.

So as I said the rockets could sign howard. Then add Jack with the room MLE exception starting at 2.65 mil a year.

Not likely but still could be done. They could also work a SNT trade to add him if they are less the 4 million over the cap.

it's the only one, technically they can keep their mle, but it usually makes no sense too (although i think there's some way to prevent being arenas'd by signing someone via mle space)

? Did you actually look at his efficiency? I said he joined the 50/40/90 club. He had the same numbers but could get there TAKING FEWER SHOTS. That is improvement. Dude, 50/40/90 club lol. His FG%, 3 pt % and FT% were all improved. If I am, in theory, a 25/7/7 player, but shoot 40%, 30% and 80%...one would say I vastly improved if next year I am 25/8/7, but shoot 50%, 40% and 90%! lol come on now

well whatever I still wasnt wrong about that...I was wrong about how the heat added mike miller though. I could have sworn they added him with the MLE...but they had the cap space still to do it.

You realize you're just moving the target now? People were originally responding to your comment about how LAL could just sign Iggy or maybe CP3 THIS OFFSEASON. As I have also pointed out in my earlier posts, which you keep ignoring.

Don't change the target and then say no one has proven you wrong haha. Obviously in 2014 LAL will have cleared their books and can sign a ton of people. But what does that have to do, again, with their ability to sign CP3 or Iggy THIS offseason? (which btw you suggested in one of your first posts)

They can't SnT for them either as LAL is over the apron THIS SEASON and cannot receive the Signed and Traded player, per cba rules.

lol that wasnt the point...we got in an argument over the salary cap.

When I read something it usually stays in my mind so I knew I was at least partially correct lol.

Yes, that is the new "Room" exception. It is not the MLE which is what we were discussing. Those are two different things. Go back to my original post and the post I replied to, they concerned the MLE. My reply stated that you couldn't sign a free agent and then use the MLE. That was a true statement. You stated that it was indeed legal (and even sited Miami/Mike Miller as an example) when it wasn't .

For that matter you could also always use the Minimum Salary exception to sign a player. The problem is that once you get below the MLE then you really limit the quality of players that you can acquire. i.e. You won't get Jarrett Jack for that kind of money.

Just commenting on the second line -- isn't it "work a SNT to add him if they are less than 4 million over the LUXURY line, i.e. not over the apron"?

its actually called the ROOM MLE so its still a variation of the MLE which is broken up in 3 different types.

They can be over the cap by no more then 4 million in order to receive a free agent via sign and trade.

Just to confirm, are we talking about different things then?

The MLE is actually one of 3 variations so I wasnt wrong. There is:

    NON-TAXPAYER MID-LEVEL
    TAX PAYER MID LEVEL
    ROOM MID LEVEL

all the same exception but can be applied in in different ways depending on the teams current salary cap situation.

You mean over the luxury tax threshold. Not the actual salary cap.

Pretty sure that'd make the other rule (posted above) completely redundant lol.

    Late on responding to this

    Warriors, ha.

Houston, Golden State nowhere to be found on his "list" a year ago. Now they're good, I'm interested!

The source also stressed Howard has not and will not ask the Lakers to make any moves on his behalf.

    Kinda late for that, no?

    Megastahr,

if you'e interested in learning the cba and what can and can't be done, study cbafaq.com.

It's really not that difficult once you understand how to search for the terms, etc.

It's about players, not teams. If you looked at our roster 12 months ago, you'd know why we were on no lists, it was just another wasted year with an old roster destined for pick 14.

Heck, even I hated last year's team.

And the Warriors? Why weren't they there last year?
