Even if Garcia wanted to sign here for the vet min, wouldn't it take trading another young PF? This is assuming we have to trade T-rob plus pay another team to take Royce off of our hands.

I thought waiving everyone but CP and Bev (and maybe Smith) and then trading Robinson and another young PF would put us at just enough to sign Dwight. If we waive Garcia, I'm assuming we won't have his Bird rights meaning we can't go over the cap to sign him.

I think I remember one of your threads from last off season. Correct me if i'm wrong but you said there were rumblings about Andrew Bynum being traded to the rockets? Or was it about drafting Andre Drummond and later trade for Howard?

If so, then yeah, you are legit.

The Rockets can sign as many players to the veterans' minimum as they want no matter how far over the cap they are.

Perhaps Lin is trade bait to Atlanta for Josh Smith?

    Beverley
    Harden
    Parsons
    J.Smith
    Dwight/Asik

That's a heavy HEAVY defensive front court but I LIKE IT!

Big change in odds today at Sportsbook...

Rockets move from +120 to -140.

Lakers move from +120 to +150.

    Looks like Ron knows something...lol.

Seriously, the "those within the organization feel that Dwight will be a Rocket" is great for those wanting Dwight here. The problem is that we're still dealing with Dwight.

I'm sure he's not going to be as indecisive as he's at least seemed to be in the past - for many reasons (i.e. Fegan possibly more open to Houston now as well, better teammates, Dwight simply just wanting to be happy after two miserable years, him feeling very comfortable with Harden and Parsons recently, and even McHale at the all star break possibly, etc).

    Accidentally posted early.

Still, it's Dwight and many have felt he was going to be a Rocket in the past.

    Thanks for sharing though, Ron.

Any thoughts on the comparison of how those you speak of in the organization feels now as opposed to at the trade deadline?

Lol I would definitely think Vegas knows something not to mention every insider on this board seems to think it will happen.

He's coming folks the interesting part will be to see what happens with the rest of the roster.

If today were July 1-10, I would think Dwight becomes a Rocket, given all the sources/information/common sense. Alas, it is still like a month away. We're peaking too early!!

It just means that Houston is clearly the favorite - at least in Vegas - at this time.

It also means you could bet $100 on him signing with the Lakers to win $150 and you'd have to bet $140 on Houston to win $100, if he signed with the Rockets.

Wage on Houston, $140 to win $100.
On Lakers, $100 to win $150.

    Houston is odds on favorite.

Vegas wouldn't know crap. Odds are swayed by the amount of bets. It just means that lots of money waged on Houston lately.

Odds are set up where no matter who wins, the house will take a percentage.

That's great news, love to have him back. Lot's of positive energy, and that vet leadership sorely needed. Any idea what that figure may be? I wonder if he'd be willing to drop to Delfino's salary to take his spot.

Depends what you mean by Vegas. The house itself wouldn't have an incentive to adjust, but if their big-money hitters are all placing big bets on Houston, those guys are usually well connected... :)
