My argument for Chuck - first of all he's much better than most of the folks on the Phoenix list, the best argument can be made for Nash. But Chuck was the better individual player and he took his team closer to a ring. Nash may have been more franchise-defining but Chuck was the best to wear the purple and orange

After all the list isn't who do you most associate with a franchise, but who's the best player on each team

Much respect to Larry Johnson (aka Grandmama), he was Barkley-type freak playing PF undersized...... BUT Alonzo was better.

Kobe is very questionable for LAL.

Which team has the weakest player crop? (franchise tenure should be factored)

    Top candidates...
    Pacers
    Clippers
    Nuggets

I'd love to see that East vs West all star game.

Is Alex English better than Melo/Mutombo when they were in Denver?

    and Lin got snubbed.

Yes, this should be based on how a player performed when during their tenure with that team. It shouldn't take into account how long they played there.

In that case, LIN for the Knicks!!!!!

On a serious note, it's a Travesty to overlook Zo and put Larry Johnson there. LJ was pretty damn good in his prime, but Zo's career trajectory was looking like following Ewing/D-Robinson at the bare minimum before injuries got a hold of him. Had he been healthy his whole career, I see him being the 2nd best defensive center in history behind Hakeem.

Honourable mention list (not the best but really put the team on their backs while they were there:
    76ers - Iverson
    Sonics/Thunder - Payton
    Sonics/Thunder - Ray Allan
    Pistons - Grant Hill
    Magic - T-Mac
    Kings - Mitch Richmond
    Cavs - Mark Price
    Clippers - Elton Brand
    Griz - Shareef Abdur-Rahim
    Bullets/Wizards - Webber
Warriors - RUN TMC (They were one player)
    Orlando - Penny Hardaway
Rockets - Steve Francis (he was multiple time starting west allstar PG).

    And just for kicks...
    Knicks - David Lee
