No offense, but you're looking at this with too much homerism. He may be the most untouchable out of that group, but scola has alot of miles on those bones. He's last another few years, but he's hardly untouchable.

As for the pulse of the Rockets, we've been on life support since Yao and McGrady went down 2 years ago and have been applying band aids since. I'm not implying any of the guys you mentioned should be traded, but every single player on this team can and will be traded if this long-term outlook of this team can be improved.

Been saying for a while that they were being active and that they weren't rebuilding.

OK people, why on earth would NO trade Chris Paul for anybody?

It's like the Lakers trading Kobe...

    Ain't gonna happen.

It's puzzling that we are so active, yet do very few actual deals.

It sounds like we propose lots of trades, or have lots of them proposed to us, but the trigger never gets pulled. It's not like there's 1000 teams out there. When we call somebody up, we've already had the same discussion before. Like,

DM: Hey, interested in that trade I've proposed to you ten times before?

    Other GM: nah.

DM: How about the one I've only proposed six times before?

    Other GM: nah.

DM: OK. Call you next week.

What is the point of having Chris Paul if Scola and Martin are gone???

Maybe because NO doesn't have an owner  Doesn't the NBA own the franchise now? What if they were trying to find a buyer but nobody wants the franchise?

How about get all expiring assets and trace CP3 to a team that way you can sell the franchise for crap and create revenue off of CP3 is his new digs.

No it wasn't. NY got nothing out of it. They were trying to get rid of Jeffries contract so they could sign 2 max FAs in the same summer. They only signed one. They already had enough cap space to sign one that summer and another one the next summer when JJ contract would expire. Instead they traded a 1st round pick and their 8th pick from that years draft for immediate cap space in one summer instead of two. NY got nothing out of the deal.

Yea, what is the point of having the top PG in the league if you don't have Scola and Martin?!? I can't believe New Orleans are not trying harder to bring both Scola/Martin to their team for this very reason!

That cap space is going to get them Carmelo Anthony.

Here is what actually happened; They were able to sign Raymond Felton as well as Stoudemire, all made possible by unloading Jared Jeffries contract which Morey thought was worth taking on in exchange for "ability to swap picks in 2011" and getting The Knicks draft pick in 2012 (protected). The biggie here is the 2011 swapping of picks that is now useless (like I predicted) because The Knicks got Stoudemire and are not in the lottery.

It was hilarious how all the pundits (including the idiot who made that little video of Morey and Walsh negotiating) acted like Morey fleeced The Knicks when it sure looks like it was the exact opposite.

The Knicks are sitting pretty for many years now with what appears to be Anthony, Stoudemire, Felton, Gallinari, and Fields. Like I said, this was all made possible by unloading Jeffries (which you say they should have let expire) which they turned into Felton, who in turn made The Knicks with Stoudemire look a lot more attractive to Carmelo.

Morey should concentrate on Gerald Wallace, at least he's available.

LMAO!! I'll sit back and let someone else respond to this garbage.

Edit: Sorry, couldn't resist. The cap space is going to get them Melo? They have to trade players/salary to get Melo now (i.e. Jeffries expiring could have been one of those players). If they sign him this offseason then that's something they could have done anyway after Jeffries expired. Are you really trying to sell that Melo is interested in the Knicks because Felton is there now? The same Knicks that are currently worse than the Nuggets, and only 2 games above 500 in the East? The same Knicks that could have signed Amare this summer without making the T-Mac deal? Melo wouldn't want to go to NY if Felton wasn't there?

Yes, an extra year of Jeffries salary is worth a 2012 1st, Hill and a potential pick swap in 2011, especially considering that the real prize in the T-Mac deal was Martin and the other things I just mentioned were extra items for taking on one year of salary. And the only reason we won't be able to swap is because Yao is hurt. We would probably be in the playoffs if Brooks never got hurt. The Knicks have ONE MORE WIN than us. Felton might not even notch a 2012 1st that's only top 5 protected (not lottery protected) and a young big.

Get outta here with that garbage....

    ^^^

I agree with the capspace part. I disagree with the trade part.

Morey fleeced Walsh (with the trade)

Walsh fleeced the free agent market (with the signings)

New York as a location has something, actually, ALOT to do with it as well.

But I totally agree with you on the capspace part. With that capspace, they are making a Stoudamire/Felton/Anthony core possbile.
