If you think about it, we are still on the same level as the 22 win streak team provided T-Mac comes back at a decent level.

    Brooks/Lowry vs. Alston/Jackson
    McGrady/Taylor vs. McGrady/Head
    Battier/Budinger vs. Battier/Novak
    Scola/Landry vs. Scola/Landry
    Deke/Hayes vs. Hayes/Dorsey

Better at PG, who knows at SG, roughly equal at SF, better at PF, worse at C

Agreed. There is no way in hell that Kobe is going to put up with that crap when not even Rafer Alston could. Ron doesn't even bring defense anymore.

This is an atrocious signing by the Lakers, especially coupled with the fact that they're losing Ariza, a guy who fit like a glove on that team.

I don't think they repeat next year, just based on this.

I don't get why people are so worked up.

Rockets are rebuilding looking for young talent. Ron Artest is useless on a team without Yao and TMac

He's friends with Kobe and loves LA. Why wouldn't he sign there? There or Cleveland. I'd choose LA too.

People need to stop saying so he was fake or whatever in the series. He went aftet Kobe even though they're friends. It just shows how competitive and passionate and crazy Ron is

    Good luck Ron

Ron Artest has told Ken Berger of CBSSports.com that he will sign with the Los Angeles Lakers.

"I'm definitely going to L.A. -- to sign, yeah," Artest said in a phone interview. "Lakers, Lakers, Lakers. I'm in L.A. right now."

Artest said he met with Lakers owner Dr. Jerry Buss Thursday and previously had spoken with Lakers coach Phil Jackson. He was en route to his financial manager's office, where he planned to huddle on the phone with his agent, David Bauman, to finalize details.

The parameters of the deal still need to be agreed upon, however.

"I don't really care about the money," Artest said. "I'll play there for nothing. ... L.A. was very interested in me, and they got me."

I can honestly see Ron, Kobe, and Odom fighting in the locker room. Something will happen in that locker room before the season ends.

I'm gonna miss you Ron but **** you for signing with LAL.
How could you do that after that series. Why didn't you just sign with Clevleand.
Youre still one of my favorite players though

Wait a minute... With this statement Ron shows how big of an idiot he is. Just dumb *******.

Week ago he was saying he love Houston, he wants to stay here and it doesn't really matter if Yao plays.

And now he is saying he doesn't care about money because he wants to play in LA.

I don't want to see his freaking face ANYMORE. He is an idiot! You just don't say things like that, not at this level.

I thought you were against the Rockets giving Ariza the MLE. Do you think it would be a mistake signing either player for the mid-level?
