Seems kind of strange that Lee, who had such an outstanding game 2 nights ago, is now stricken with pneumonia and out for tonight's game. That's a seriously fast acting virus.

Dude you really wasted time with this post. Mayo isn't the type of "moneyball" player Morey goes after

And frankly, the guy is overrated

As a matter of fact you have a better chance of being picked up by Morey than Mayo does

You think they would say pneumonia tho? Had it just been 'flu' I woulda been more suspicious.

I've had pneumonia before. I sure didn't contract it in less than 48 hours after playing basketball at the highest level. Although I wish I could say that, ha ha.

I think I know what you're getting at, but the radio broadcast said it was a minor case.

I'd do this trade in a heartbeat.

Mayo regressed this year but he has the talent to average 20 PPG in the NBA, can Lee do that? Not at all.

Lee is a role player, Mayo still has a shot at being an All Star.

I would never trade Lee for Mayo. Thats goofy. Now Brooks for Mayo, definitely. Brooks and Jeffries for Mayo and Thabeet in a heartbeat. ;)

Lowry couldn't even make it on the Grizz.

Hayes couldn't even make it to the nba.

How is Mayo overrated? All anyone says about him is that he has potential. You soundin like a hater.

I am indifferent about this. But I wouldn't mind this and let's say we make another deal to get another piece (Nene, Bogut, Granger, ETC).

It makes tons of sense. While it may not seem like much now because of Mayos situation with his recent trouble? He is a upgrade in the SG department who could possibly even benefit from a change of scenery and his play could move back up a level here once again. Its worth it if they are willing to risk it on a Rockets Pr standpoint for a player to give him another chance. It helps two teams. Memphis and us at the same time. The most even trade out there. They get quality known commodity and change at SG they seek there. We get possible upside if he turns around a bad thing surrounding him.

You have 1 side that overrates Mayo, another side that overrates Lee. What I'd say is look at the numbers, Mayo's last 2 seasons, not this year, he put up numbers Lee has yet to come close to. Mayo is Younger also. If we were to had an opportunity for a straight up trade for them I'm pretty sure Morey would get fired for passing it up.... You just can't pass on someone who could be an all star.

Also there are tons of players that just need to go to a new team.

    Look at
Tmac in toronto, Gilbert in Washington, Beasley in Minnesota, Caron Butler, Steve Nash, Billups...you can go through the years and see this.

Anyone not wanting Mayo is afraid of the team getting worst. IT IS A RISK, but honestly...the team as constructed is going NOWHERE so you have to make changes and Mayo just screams a guy that needs a change of scenery. He's not some garbage player like Thabeet that has never done anything in the NBA, he was once a strong candidate for ROY.

I went to the Rockets Social Media Night event after the game. First off, it was an awesome thing for the organization to allow fans to personally ask questions to the GM of the team. Sadly only 20 or so people were there, but the small size made it a little more special to me.

In any case, Morey stressed two things the most. The rockets need a super star and a center. He said losing Yao Ming hurt so much because he filled both those needs. When asked why our defense was so poor, he stated that it's the lack of a large 5 who can protect the rim and collect defensive rebounds. He went on to say without such a 5, it wouldn't matter if our current players played their best individual defense, our team defense would still be average at best.

He was very frank and spoke with conviction. Taking that into account, I can't see how this trade fills our most pressing needs, especially if we go deeper into LT. Therefore, I don't see it happening. But that's just my two cents.

The more I think about giving up Lee in this deal the less I like it. The Rockets are obviously lacking Defence, Lee can defend multiple positions. As we've seen when given minutes, Lee can produce, although I don't expect him to put up 20 consistently. Another plus is his contract, this kind of production on both ends of the floor and at this price is hard to come by.

I like Mayo's potential, I just don't think it solves much unless he has an opportunity for big minutes(and then it's not a given) There may not be minutes to be had with Martin and others still on the roster.

The thought of landing Mayo is intriguing, I'm just not sold on this peticular deal. If the Rockets are looking for "upside" then let's trade Martin and Scola and really start over.

Trading for a player who has similar entities as the one you trade away?

I don't get the point here, so next please.

This trade is interesting because we haven't yet seen the Full Potential that Courtley Lee can possibly have, and Mayo just seems like a thug that is messing up team chemistry in Memphis. Although Mayo is a great basketball player, this would be a gamble trade for Morey.
