I like Mayo, but he is really short for a starting SG.

I would also like to see what Lee could do as a starter.

If we could somehow get Mayo, Vasquez and Thabeet it would be great.

I guess if we can get Mayo and Thabeet (yeah, so far a major bust) for Lee, then that is what you kind of have to do....

We would still be log jammed at the SG position though.......

Morey has a lot to do, and as Magic used to say ...."It is winning time"

The last week of the trade deadline is Morey's "Winning time".

Mayo is the better player. Now. And always...

I agree with him... Mayo is a better player.

better at creating, their shooting percentages are very similar during their careers, has shown to be a better rebound/assist guy if you look at stats.

However, based on his scoring ability his first 2 years on a team with a lot of selfish players, he's shown that he can score in a system that isn't as efficient as the Adleman one... so he'd probably do better here.

OJ was projected to be an allstar guard and I think he still can be.

If it was Lee for Mayo straight up, I'd have to do it.

We could trade either Brooks or Lowry for another piece (probably brooks), and have Mayo as the back up SG & PG. He really does have star potential. His trade value is probably the lowest it ever will be so this would be time to get him.

Like I said, the only way it made sense would be that Martin was also traded. Mayo isn't going to be much better than Lee playing 15 mpg behind Martin. If Mayo really has star potential, then he should be the starter.

Mayo is the SG version of Paul Pierce. Can be our closer on a deep team.

I like Courtney Lee a lot, but this would be considered "buying low" on Mayo.

    I'd go for it.

I don't think many people share your opinion on Lee v. Mayo.. to me it's obvious, but I respect differing opinions. Looking at the highlight tape that was posted after our debate, I don't see any problems with OJ being able to get off his own shot. He looks like he's got a lot of potential.. but something would have to give between him and Martin.

I'm not sure how Mayo would fit into the rotation playing time-wise but this is just the kind of deal I would expect from Morey. Low risk-high reward written all over it. I like Lee but if the reports are correct that the Rockets are targeting high upside players, as they should, Mayo is a prime target. He has produced his first 2 years in the league although he has not played up to par this season, he's only 23 and has a ton of room for improvement. Finding quality minutes for him will be a challenge since Lowry and Martin occupy the starting guard positions but personnel-wise, this is a deal I would definitely make. Maybe we can ship Brooks (though that may not be the best idea since he also is in the same boat as Mayo of having produced last year and not up to par this year and is still relatively young) to make room for Mayo to be the primary backup and first guard off the bench to play either guard position.

Naw, after his first season, the Grizz got Randolph and Gasol, so somebody was gonna lose some shots. Its kind of worriedsome to me when we play them, that the Grizz plays better without him but if all it takes is Lee and and some change to get him I'm all for it.

If somehow we trade Martin for our missing piece then this trade would actually make sense.

Honestly, I would probably do that trade. I LOVE Courtney Lee, don't get me wrong.. But Mayo's game just seems so much smoother. He could be a great 6th man off the bench.

John Hollinger absolutely wrecked Mayo before he was drafted. I cannot see how the Rockets, being like-minded in a respect-for-statistics sense, could not also be leery about this guy's awful efficiency.

Or "Mayo with the mustard and ketchup" (referencing the alt uniforms).

    No, THAT wouldn't get old!
