YA JUST THINKING...we could send lee for mayo...since he is better for them...but I am guessing other teams would have a higher interest in mayo.

Suns and bulls I think would be a great start.

Trade our best scorer for defensive center? And who's gonna make up the 20pts a game Martin consistently gives us? What's the logic

Martin is my favorite player but if we get Mayo, we look long term. In a few years we take the chacne Mayo is our 20ppg player and we have a better all around team.

No way you trade Martin for a defensive center, I think he meant a 2-way center that like the article stated, "to build around".

Martin for Nene, Lee for Mayo.

Nene + Mayo would make up for the loss of Martin, both in terms of scoring and the impact on the defensive end that a capable center will bring.

What's the appeal? This guy is just an outside shooter with decent ballhandling, but that's it. He won't have the defense of Lee.

I agree, I think OJ Mayo is a much better player and an all-star type player. Lee will forever be a good role player. I would do this deal in a heartbeat. In the right setting (I believe we have the right environment), he'd do very well.

All I ask is that we don't trade Lee for OJ Mayo. Lee's taller, plays better defense, and shoots better than Mayo. Mayo may be more talented, but there are certainly maturity issues. Right now, i don't think you could say that Mayo is a better basketball player than Lee. And i don't think his "upside" is worth moving Lee for (straight up).

Hey now Mayo is currently taking untraceable growth hormones, the height won't be a factor ;)

You guys are crazy for saying that you wouldn't take a top prospect for a guy that, exluding just recently, has been riding pine for the majority of the season.

Mayo has digressed with the Grizz BUT he was one of their top 3 players that they were ultimately building around before the downfall of this season. I agree with those that say the change of scenary will help.

Mayo has major talent and can play both ways, as most of you have increasingly urged. In my eyes Lee for Mayo swap would be well worth it.

Mayo is actually a good defender.. Plus Mayo is currently playing with Conley, Gay, Randolph... All ball dominate. He and the coach dont really get along so they made him into a spot up shooter.

    Hence his stats going down.

No, both Mayo & Cousins have proven they can't get along with other players. Bad chemistry leads to fewer wins - no thanks!

Mayo will have a harder time fitting in with Martin. His upside is bigger than Lee,but I would pass up on him. Now if we can get Iggy,as a replacement for Battier,I'm for it.
I wouldn't be opposed to using Yao's contract for Brand, and then trying to trade Luis for a center. A project like Thabeet, isn't likely to help us out.

lee for mayo would be great, but playing mayo behind martin could be an issue, unless he seems time at pg as well and that means def moving mr brooks. if we could do Lee and filler for mayo and thabeet and then do brooks, jeffries, hill, and another prospect for a good center id be down. Only problem is i cant really see a center that fits our mold, atleast one that isnt untouchable or injured.

    kaman (injured)
    nene (depends on melo)
Robin lopez (depends if they dump nash)
Cousins(seems untouchable but morey likes sac and they like us)
asik (they want lee plus more)
okafor (injured, bad contract and thoughts of contraction might help)
dalembert (could be had, defensively pretty good, not much injury history)
Hawes (interestingly enough i feel like he has good offensive game but defensivly bad)
