Lol so much for anything besides babble in response. You don't like 3s and layups, that's fine but it has won the last few championships. I'm fine with criticism BTW, if you had any insight, which you don't. Your argument is literally, I don't like it because I feel like its trying to be lucky. When in fact it is a designed style to bring out the best possible return.

The thing about having a well thought out plan is even still you likely won't beat golden State who have the best roster ever formed. Our roster should never be able to compete with them but since we have this well thought out plan we are in striking distance and have a chance for the upset.
Would you prefer a bunch of mid range shots nonstop? Lol your stance is laughably ridiculous. I don't understand what your arguing anymore. Do you like the old school days of no 3pt line or shot clock where you dribble in circles and play jeep away?

I've met and debated with a laugh of dumb posters but you probably just had the stupidest response argument and thought collection I have yet to see.

You don't have to like 3s and layups but it is fundamentally flawed thinking to deny how it's changing the game and is the best way to play in the current landscape.

    Solid argument. I've been swayed.

I'm not against three pointers, I just feel that the Rockets shoot too many, that's all.

I support the trend towards three pointers.

Alright, so we are gonna win a championship soon with our incredibly analytical offense, right?

I just feel that we need to have a little more of a mid-range/inside game or else we'll be too predictable.

When you base pretty much 98 percent of your offense on analytics, that takes away from having a more natural offense that should be built on BALANCE.

That's good because we're not going to win a championship anytime soon.

I would make the offense more 75/25 in terms of threepointers/midrange/inside game balance.

98 percent might be slightly hyperbole on my part but you get my drift.

I would get a C and PF who are long, wide and physical who can rebound, play defense and score a little, we don't need bigs who score a lot since we have enough scoring already.

The Spurs and GSW are just analytically inclined as we are and they have the rings to back it up. Their respective offenses are tied to their personnel, the Spurs take a lot of mid range shots because they have players who hit those shots at a good clip.

Our issue is taking too many bad 3 pointers. We have too many good 3 pointers and PNR ball handlers to not keep passing to the open man or resetting the offense to try again. We are top ten in points in the paint to go along with our volume 3 point shooting.

Probably not, but it's gives us our best shot with the talent we have. We are a worse team if we incorporated more long 2s.

The idea of out shooting gsw is a good one. In almost every loss they have the other team hit 12 or more 3pt shots. That is a pattern you have to try and exploit.

Furthermore, we are practically the best team in the league when we hit 15 3pt shots or more.

So will we win the championship playing this style? Most likely not. Would we if we played like the spurs? Probably not. If we played like the grizzlies? Nope

Our style is the one that gives us the best chance tho.

I'd like more defense and rebounding. We dont have enough of that. But adding that doesn't change our style of play.

We have the 3rd best roster with a single superstar and we have a punchers chance of beating the beat team ever assembled. That's not because Harden is playing like Hakeem in 94 or the goat. It's because of the system.

Deny it all you want. Don't like it. Idc... But facts are facts. You just don't like then

I said it before, I will say it again.

Although teams like the Warriors and Cavs shoot a lot of threepointers, they still have a better inside game than the Rockets and know how to drive to the basket at the right moments.

When the Rockets drive to basket, they look like they don't know whether they should pass the ball or take the shot inside the paint.

The Spurs are the epitome of championship basketball, which the Rockets don't play.

The Rockets should take notes from the Spurs.

Yes, I agree, we need more defense, particularly inside.

That is why I propose getting two big men who can play good defense.

That's unfortunate and shocking to hear. I thought we'd be heavily favored against a team with 4 all stars, but I'm woke now.

OK here are the facts so you can stop the nonsense.

Rockets shoot 31.9 attempts per game 5ft or less. That's 5th in the league behind denver, Milwaukee, okc, Phoenix.

In comparison warriors attempt 29.7 (13th in the league) and Cleveland attempts 27.3 per game (24th in the league).

Here is the top 5 in fg% of those shots.
    1. Gsw at 66.3%
    2. Houston at 63.3%
    3. Cleveland at 62.3%
    4. Clippers at 61.7%
    5. San Antonio at 61.4%

So we get to the rim better than EVERY contender and that includes both teams you stated. And only gsw are better at converting those attempts than us in the entire league.

So please. Stop with this nonsense that we don't score inside enough.

Edit: just to add some more perspective. The top 10 team in mid range attempts per game all suck. Only San Antonio is in the top 10 in attempts from mid-range that is a good team and mostly because they have the personnel for it. The teams are as follows in case your curious
    1. Knicks
    2. Bulls
    3. Spurs
    4. Pistons
    5. Pacers
    6. Mavs
    7. Wizards
    8. T'wolves
    9. Suns
    10. Magic

After looking this list over you can add Washington as another team who is at least pretender status and shoots a lot from mid-range

I would prefer if our offense was more like Cleveland's or Boston's. Their offenses have more motion and ball movement. Yes, they take a lot of threes, but I feel like the ones that they take come more naturally in the flow of the offense while we're more prone to just jacking them up. There's more balance and variety to their offenses while we're pretty much restricted to PnR, threes, and layups.

This is just vague nonsense. Everyone is so willing to provide criticism but not able to provide a more perfect idea.

We get it spurs warriors cavs are more talented. Morey knows this too. Do you think we would beat those teams by shooting midrange a bunch with this group?

I guarantee morey would love to sign lebron curry and all those guys. Whats your point?

Actually, the Spurs are taking notes from the Rockets.

Pop has Kawhi watch hours of film on Harden to learn how he draws fouls.

Amazing that you know more about basketball than Pop does though.
