So I'm guessing that whole media bias thing must be originating from Battered Wife Syndrome, right? I mean, Obama treats his reporters like crap, and they don't retaliate, no, they just keep coming back for more. That must be why they love him so much, they just can't quit him!

Upon review myself of those events in McCain's life, I have both read, and heard the man from his own mouth admit that his actions were wrong. I have also firmly followed the similar discussion concerning Obama's lack of denouncing of his relationships to certain incendiary individuals that lead me to a character issue. There is a pattern. Old timers used to say, "birds of a feather flock together." I have often said, when speaking to youth groups, "show me your friends and I'll show you who you are." We all gravitate toward similar character traits.

An episode in our lives, however, does not a character flaw make. And when forgiveness for mistakes is requested, and the party in question demonstrates a thorough grasp on why what they did was wrong, you cannot deny them the forgiveness they seek.

If a man stands and asks that he be forgiven it is one thing. And it is further my obligation to forgive. If a man dismisses a concern many Americans have, I must remain in limbo and still seek an answer.

Once forgiven, and once the character (that is developed from perseverance and discipline in the face of failure) of a man can be seen, after years of living it before the public, I can then say without any reservation that between the two candidates, only one man has shown the bravery of admitting mistakes, the courage of asking to be forgiven, and the resolve and determination to not only live according to his new found discipline, but the willingness to patch up the relationship that was once so tattered.

It was an article on snopes that shows that McCain's first wife is supporting him, disproving also that many of the angles of the story of that relationship have been embellished.

I do not condone having extra marital affairs... pre-marital, or adulterous... but I would venture that John McCain in his own words has repeatedly said the same as it pertained to his own life experiences with his first wife.

Furthermore, during the recent Saddleback Forum, McCain re-intimated that his divorce was his "greatest moral failure." I think he gets it. I think he understands what he did was wrong. Up until that point, and reading the snopes link I honestly had my doubts. I talked repeatedly to my own wife about whether or not he was the candidate I'd vote for. I heard what I needed to hear. I cannot think he would expose that weakness in such transparency if he was not being truthful about his regret and sorrow.

I cannot be sure that Obama gets why the country is abuzz with inquisition toward his past, and present, radical relationships. Instead I still see snide comebacks and vague responses.

It ends stating that Carol has been quoted as saying, "He is a good guy. We are still good friends. He is the best man for president."

If she can forgive the man, I can too.

I am not asking anyone to change their opinions based on hearsay. I am asking it to be looked into by every single person for themselves... just as I would anything else. I seldom take second or third hand information and run with it. I trust no one else will either.
