I fully agree this was a vicious attack and I am not trying to lessen this attack. The point I am making though is that we shouldn't jump to conclusions about why this attack took place. As the shooting of Rep. Giffords shows it often takes awhile to get all of the facts about a case and often first conclusions are wrong with the attack on Lara Logan we may never know all of the facts. The fact is that people do violent things in a mob situation no matter where it is. One thing we should keep in mind is that Egyptian women and soldiers who we can presume most of which are Muslim saved Lara Logan.

But your post is funny because you say we should not make assumptions about the perpetrators but then go on to make assumptions about the saviors in the very same post...when it is rather likely that the demographics of both are similar. Regardless of that and what happened on that square - I have been to the Middle East several times and several of my female friends have been there as well. It is a fact that the attitude towards women, and consequently the treatment of women, is largely different from the Western world in that part of the world, unfortunately. Not by everyone of course, but on average. And especially if you are clearly a foreign woman and dress differently (it does not have to be provocative by Western standards). Would you dispute that?
