Not really. You can be greedy too. Having consistently bad polls (Zogby) ruins your reputation and it's going to cost you financially. Every pollster has a financial incentive to be as accurate as possible.
I agree with this - the polls will keep changing quite a bit. However, I do think starting next week, they become more useful and give you a pretty good picture of the "state of the race" because you've gotten past the four most volatile events in the conventions and VP picks.
