Well bubbling frustration will do that. Glad Andre finally said it. This franchise has been one giant disappointment for over a decade and maybe this is the straw that breaks the camel's back. Watching Andre leave will be hard but it will be an echoing reminder to the Organization and to the owner that this crap is no longer tolerated. It will be what keeps JJ here hopefully because I doubt there will ever be a class act like Dre. Hope we have the luck of having another in Watt.
Maybe... Would be nice. Lol. But I think they could only get a couple of late round picks for him at most. But it won't hurt the Texans cap wise if they trade him after June.
The more I think about this, the more Im annoyed with AJ. This is just really crap timing. In any case, the Texans will most definitely be in the playoffs in 2015, so if Andre wants to go to another team, he will almost assuredly have to watch the Texans in the post season. It would almost be hilarious if the Texans won without him.
I'd say more than a third of the blame. The biggest problem the Texans had is they went from top 10 quarterback production to being among the worst in the league.
Ohhhh... So Ed Reed was the reason the Texans lost 14 straight games. Well now that he's gone _ everything should be fine.
Dre has been great and all...but he hasnt been more of a class act than a lot of players. He hasnt been more of a class act than Schaub, Cushing, OD, Duane Brown, etc... Just bc he has been here longer doesnt mean he's more of a class act. And JJ, by all accounts, is on his way to surpassing Andre with class actness...unless JJ decides to sign a contract and immediately ask for more. Then, JJ and Andre will be on the same level.
Well, going from bottom 2-3 in QB play to middle of the pack in QB play will significantly help if everything else remains constant. However, the Texans upgraded many parts of their team, so I would expect much, much better results this year.
I wonder how bad folks like him will turn on Watt when he asks to be the highest paid defensive player in history. Funny how you stop being the greatest Texan ever when you finally speak your mind.
I bet the last straw for Dre was the Texans not moving up one spot (which would have given them the fifth year option, not a bad move) to pick Teddy. Teddy was the most accurate midrange passer in the draft, where Dre makes his living, and also the best at picking up the blitz.
I think some or just upset. The fans who seem to be upset are the ones who believe we can be back in the playoffs this season and or compete for the playoffs... I don't see it that way. I believe we are in a two year rebuilding process. And moving Dre this off-season will clear up $16 million in cap space next year.
I love how Andre making a few introspective, contemplative remarks has everyone flipping their s*** and rushing into one of two camps. Camp 1) AJ SUX GTFO OMG Y U DO DIS NAO Camp 2) FAK U TEXUNS TRADE HIM 2 CONTENDAR I see no fault in either side here. Andre is allowed to be frustrated, and the Texans are allowed to tell him "we feel you brah but you're not going anywhere". I don't begrudge either party for those stances. AJ is going to come around (because he has no leverage, but mostly because he's a professional) and the Texans won't be nearly the hot pile of dog crap they were in 2013. Everyone will hold hands and sing songs until 2016 when we will be faced with the dilemma of paying a 35 year old receiver 15 million bucks.
Nope, never said he wasnt the greatest Texan ever. Dre is my favorite player in the NFL. But, how has he been more of a class act than someone like Schaub? I think that term is thrown around too much and it really doesnt make much sense, considering that other players have been just as loyal and just as great off the field.
