Nobody has dismissed anything at face value can you not read. The right wing tactic is you twisting his words and straight claiming he has done something that he did not. And what is with you all labelling dissenting opinions as right wing?
Has it? The rhetoric here and elsewhere doesn't line up with that. Lets actually do something for the working class and raise it to $10 instead of getting paralyzed.
It's easy to win the narrative battle when think tanks and majority of media is owned by hedge funds and wealthy shareholders. Gee I wonder if they welcome progressive rheotoric that interferes with the revolving door and insider trading which is the mechanisms they use to hold moderate Dems in check?
What have you accomplished politically?[/QUOTE] Is this a real question? I have no idea what you even mean?
The rhetoric here has little to no discussion about a phased roll out plan. You can be intellectually curious and actually ask people like me or @subtomic on whether we want a phased roll out or immediately have it jump to 15 as soon as the bill passed.
Slaves get the bare minimum to survive and show up to do their labor the next day. That doesn't mean that chatell slavery practiced during the 18th and 19th century in the US is equivalent to modern day slave waged labor because of obvious reasons such as corporal punishment for poor performance and owning the children of slaves along with being explicitly racially targeted. But these people I'm referring to also have no option.
You have your own think tanks and your own media. You just keep falling over your own dicks trying to create narratives that don't appeal to voters during election day.
Likewise..... you and @subtomic can be intellectually curious and ask me about my position. However, y'alls rhetoric hasn't left much room to compromise.
Which media and think tanks would you think have the more powerful ability to amplify their message to a broader audiance? One owned by activists or one owned by hedge funds and majority shareholders of companies like AT&T/Warner Media and Disney?
Do rural communities have the infrastructure and job infrastructure to support an influx of new residents looking for employment?
Are you denying that you have your own think tanks and media? My point is that you aren't as helpless as you try and make people think. It's part of the narrative.... everyone is against us. It's tiring and whiny... There's a reason why your policies poll well, but you fall flat on your face during campaign time.
Are you saying that think tanks and media from activists have the same pull and influence on society as media owned by the largest publicly traded companies owned by some of the most powerful people on the planet? Are you saying they have equal resources in influencing not only the public but our law makers? Do these activist media outlets and think tanks have the ability to make law makers more wealthy from the revolving door or insider trading or campaign donations? Saying that people are whiney because they acknowledge the disproportionate influence that corporations have in our law makers is quite worrying when it comes from moderate democrats like yourself. It's rhetoric I expect from the right wing.
An influx, obviously not. But how about just some job growth? However, I don't understand the point you are trying to make?
I cant believe this has to be said, but someone earning slave wages is not a slave. Remarkably stupid conversation here.
You not even trying to make a coherent point even more. In chattel slavery they still did not have a choice if they left they would be locked up and returned. Which is my point.
I can't believe that anyone would would use slave wages to describe minimum wage or anything under 15 dollars an hour. It's hyperbole like the man said.
