    It's none of your business

You walk on your sunshine road, and Morey cross his single-plank bridge

“Who cares about a lot of people” is exactly why China denies rights to others and is okay with it.

What’s confusing here? Long term business in a communist country is a bad investment because of counter party risk. The government can simply stop a company from existing because someone said the wrong word, even if the business is good.

Over time, eventually every company does something that the communist party doesn’t like. That’s why the biggest Chinese companies either 1) stop existing or 2) become state backed.

China is not a good foreign investment, for the Rockets, or otherwise,

To overreact like this over one tweet a guy makes expressing an opinion just shows weakness and total insecurity, not strength at all.

This is going to end up being a huge story because Silver may have to get involved and I have no idea what he's going to do.

What I would like him to do is threaten China right back. Tell them maybe the NBA isn't a place for China if it can't respect the laws and rights of the NBAs operating country and then hope this all blows over.

Morey bout to get a 30 for 30 for this.

Judging from your replies, I can also understand why the Chinese government needs to have plans to protect the local made movies and limited and censored the Hollywood movies.

All you got are those superhero Marvel sh’t and transformers sh’t. While you are enjoying those visual effects and envying those superpowers, you still haven’t learn a bit about the culture and humor here.

"The Chinese government just wants to live in peace and prosperity and works hard to promote these ideals with everyone in their country. This goes for even the Uighurs, Tibetans, and any other minority group.
"If these groups understand these magnificent concepts and work together for the greater good like the rest of us, would the Chinese government do any harm to them? 'Why would it?' I say.
"But if these groups do get repressed and imprisoned by the Chinese government... well that has to mean that they must have done something real real bad - even evil! - to have received such a severe punishment.
"And well... then that's got to mean the Chinese government probably had every right to take this necessary action. After all, this is evil that threatened the greater good of the nation.
"And those who speak ill against the Chinese government's actions? Well, they must be out to sabatoge this great process with their weak arguments and fake evidence, probably concocted by the West."

    Scary stuff.

I really do think it is going to spread. Next time any GM makes a public appearance, you'd assume a reporter will ask about if they support Morey's freedom to tweet his opinions. Can you imagine, for example, what a coach like Pop or Kerr will say about it? LOL.

The NBA has to support the freedom of their employees to post political comments as individuals. I don't see any other way forward, and if China doesn't want to do business with organizations that have freely speaking employees, then they won't have a relationship with the NBA.

What's wrong with watching CBA basketball? Are you saying CBA basketball is not great? Are you disrespecting your country? This could be treason

Do you believe nba don’t know the differences when they expanded business in China? If you’re true businessman, you adapt when you try to make it work. You don’t try to lecture when you’re guest and try to make money. About “long term”. You fool yourself if you’re successful businessman when you quits top two markets in the world.

The guy has an opinion that is different than yours and therefore “deserves punishment”? You might want to rethink that.

They're sociopathic bullies. Nobody but them matters. The suffering and cries from hundreds of people being beaten into a line of trucks to carry them away to God only knows what horrific fate, is infinitely less in their eyes than being made to feel the slightest embarrassment.

Same rationale a thug uses to justify using force to get what he wants, and who will kill you if you accidentally step on his shoes.

Like @Reeko, I'm curious to see just how dependent on Chinese cash the various Fertitta businesses are.
