If the Rockets do match on Lowry, that's $5.4 mil less in cap space for 2011. Argh!

    Oh. My. God.

Don't like this for either team. I really like Lowry, but that's too much money for his skillset. He's great as a backup (his role in Houston), I have my doubts as a starter (probably his role in Cleveland).

The only bright side is I finally get to see Mo Williams leave.

Well, if that's the case, the deal is more like a 3 yr./$17.4M with a team option for ~$6.75M in 2013-14.

That makes is at least a LITTLE more palatable to match.

My guess is that Les Alexander is not a big Dan Gilbert fan right now, though.

Money is not the issue here. Would you have resigned Lowry to a 4 year deal with a team option on the last year if it was for only 2 mil. Yes you would. Les is willing to spend money to keep this team a contender. Well sometimes you have to spend money to keep teams contenders, so here you go. Since Les is willing to spend money this is a good investment as you get a good PG for 4 years to come.

Morey said Kyle Lowry will be back. I know I can trust Morey's word.

Morey said he will match any offer for Lowry and Scola.
if we let Lowry walk, i can't imagine what's other teams will do to Scola.

Pretty sure OP can do it, in 'Thread Tools' at the top right of the screen.

    Could be wrong though.

Ya'll are crazy. Lowry's role is too big to lose. You cant replace his hustle and grit. I dont care WHO you bring in to replace him. He's too valuable. Plus he's the PERFECT compliment to Aaron. HOWEVER, to say Lowry will start over Brooks one day is ridiculous. Aaron is the obviously the better player

This is going to be one expensive offseason if they match and have to pay Scola too.

I'm looking at FA PG's available...

Nate Robinson, Shannon Brown, Earl Watson, Allen Iverson, Roger Mason, Eddie House, Will Bynum, Acie Law, CJ Watson, Royal Ivey, Jason Williams...

For the love of God, please sign Kyle Lowry...

That's GM talk for "don't bother giving him an offer because you'll just waste your time".

Naw, that just means Mo is a goner. Rumors have it that Atlanta is interested in him.

Lowry is one of my favorite players but I think it is too steep to match. But I guess if Darko got 20 mill Lowry deserves 24 mill.

I believe the 4th year is a club option. There just isn't anything else out there. I say we match

The thing is, if we DON'T sign Lowry, then we'll have to sign a PG who will probably want the same amount of money, give or take.

Like a poster just posted, Lowry is probably the best candidate for a spot on our team, versus the other PGs.
