Damn, when was last time lots teams have money to spend and can't get any stars? Now those teams desprately want to sign somebody. A backup PG for 6mils a year?

I wish i can be free agent this summer, all the role players get more than they should. Especailly, in the TV, we still are talking about Economic Crisis.

He won't be a back-up any more if we trade Brooks away.

For that matter, why not just extend Brooks now? Since we have his Bird rights we can negotiate with him. If he actually does feel upset about Lowry getting paid (which I doubt), offer him a reasonable extension kicking in after this season. If he'd rather wait and test restricted free agency, that's fine, but he would know we valued him.

I still don't think he would care that Lowry was getting paid a year sooner though. But it might be a good idea to extend Brooks anyway before he raises his value even more.

Because Lowry isn't half the player Rondo is.

don't forget Barbosa is getting 7.1mil this year and 7.6mil the next and TJ Ford is getting 8.5mil, i think Lowry's contract is fair enough. besides, he not only backs up Brooks, he also sometimes play small ball with Brooks at the back court. i hope we match the offer

Without James, Lowry will be a better pg than Mo...
And I think they will try to trade Mo if they really get Lowry...

The Rockets sucked when Lowry missed games due to injury last season.(it even cost them the playoffs)

    Just sayin....

If Rockets don't match...who CAN play back up PG? Lowry is the best backup PG in the NBA, it would be a large blow to this team if we lose him.

No Landry....No Lowry :( almost feels like we are going into a new era.

This is one of the most messed up comparisons I've ever seen. If Rondo's TRULY worth only $11 mil, then Lowry should be getting $3 mil. So using Rondo's contract actually devalues Lowry's worth.

I do believe Lowry is worth almost-MLE money on the free market. But that's because Rondo is worth the freaking MAX on the free market.

Except shooting is something kinda important in basketball...Rondo is so overrated it's ridiculous. His weak midrange game killed the Celtics in this year's Finals as the Lakers left him open to brick those all series.

To be honest, it is a high price for Kyle. I can't believe a backup PG who rotate two years recently worth 4years 24million. But, he is a potential guy and he always catch his sight of teamates to pass the comfortable assistance . He also has the strong rebound and defence. Although he is expensive, I will match Cavs offer

Chris Duhon got $4.25 million per season. I think Kyle is worth $5.8 million on average for the first 3 years.

Selfishly, I want the Rockets to match. Matched, Kyle still will be the 7th highest paid player on the team assuming Luis gets more. We have Battier and Jeffries getting paid more and are expiring at the end of the season.

Yao is a question mark and if things go sour with him, we might be starting over and having 2 point guards on the team at the quality of the ones we have now would help.

I can see where Daryl wouldn't match. But this whole summer he has told everyone that he wanted Kyle and Luis to get an offer and they'd match. Well, now it's time.

Yes I know he would be getting paid more than Aaron this season but that is just how things operate when you come into the league one year earlier. Aaron will be taken care of when it's his time to negotiate.
