You can NOT be afraid of paying your best players unless your name is Donald Sterling. AB will have earned whatever raise he gets, but if Morey let's him go the restricted route, he may end up getting a LARGE amount of $$$$ Morey would be smart to lock up AB soon.... DD
(1) If Lowry has already signed an offer sheet, then no sign-and-trade can happen. It's against the rules. (2) Even if no offer sheet had been signed yet and the Rockets signed-and-traded Lowry at the same contract value, the trade exception generated would only be about $2.685M. That wouldn't be enough to trade for Sessions. Sorry.
I just find it funny that their team is the one that just SIGNED Lowry to an offer sheet, yet they only have 10 pages of 15 posts per page (150 total) and we have 17 pages of 20 posts per page (340 total). Clutchfans > *
With Blake, Farmar, and Felton off the board I don't see where else we can turn to for backup PG duties. That being said though 4yrs/24mil is too much for a backup PG who shoots around 40% and isn't a threat from deep. Imo I think we overvalue Lowry based on what we "accomplished" last season. Adelman's offense works in a way that we don't necessarily need a "true-PG." I would hate to see Lowry go, but it just doesn't make enough business-sense
Nah, Felton is a triple double. He does take some bad shots, but that doesn't make him worse than Lowry. He just needs better coaching. Lowry and Felton's deals are fair market value.
Ish just got real! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUH3JQjcweM I agree that Morey will match for multiple reasons (not having other teams believe that DM is bs'ing when he says he's going to bring back a player among is definitely one of them).
What did your mother ask you about what you'd do if everybody else ran off a cliff? If we based salary decisions on comps with the Knicks, we'd be on the NBA's skid row, right next to them with 20 wins, trading away the next decade's worth of picks for cap space. I think you match, but if you aren't the Knicks or one of the other poorly run franchises, that sort of allocation to Lowry is not ideal. I don't think Lowry/Brooks is sustainable at those sorts of rates.
brad miller was supposed to make his decision by the end of the week, this could also have an effect on what we do.
We're matching. And then Morey is going to use Lowry and Ariza to bait Philly for Iggy. That leaves us with all our expirings and young guys to go after Chris Paul with. Chris Paul/FA Martin/Taylor Iggy/Posey Yao/Okafor Scola/Hill or Patterson Hayes
At 4years/24mil his first year's salary is only around 4million right?? that's not overpaying by much if at all. I say match it. For what he does he's worth it IMO.
Damn! Oh well Pay up Les! Oh and Morey PLEASE get a back up center since we're going to start overpaying our back-ups. And now would be the time to sign Aaron Brooks to a long-term deal.
