    GOD MOREY will match

Why??? Because this offer by the cavs, makes Morey aware that the they really want him

Morey is a guy that knows how crucial is to have assets desired by other teams

I would not be surprised, if this ends up in a S&T, involving 3 teams

    Cavs gets Lowry
    Atlanta gets Mo
    Hou gets Josh

I am ignoring salary matches ect, and picks involved

This trade is just a possible scenario, NOT LIKELY, because I don´t think Morey matches this offer, because they want Lowry on the team, because 6M is overpaying for a backup, and we all know how Morey likes to pay......

Not at all, I like Lowry, and am happy he is getting paid.

I am very interested though to see what the Rockets really do.......

They have talked a lot about paying the Lux tax, but have fought tooth and nails not to......

So, it will be interesting to see if they match for Luis and Kyle.....to me...they have to keep Luis....this is borderline on keeping Kyle.

Agreed. There's no reason that a backup player should be making more than the starting player.

Its a question of Offense versus Defense.
Defense wins out in the eyes of those Sports experts. Just listen to them.

This makes sense if rockets re-sign lowry, then the possibility of us trading Brooks would be likely. I think we've seen what Brooks can do but not sure if it fits Adelmans system. Adelmans system rely on a pg with passing skills and not shooting. Otherwise, Lowry would not be re-signed. This gives me a feeling we could trade Brooks and Battier/Jefferies near the deadline, just so we could get an elite player without having to re-sign Brooks. Jmo.

I'd match because Kyle is not just a backup PG. He can play the 2 because of his defensive prowess. So, he's also serves as a backup 2 in some matchups.

Also, our starting PG only makes around 2 million next year. So, that's 8 million for the PG position next year. When Aaron's contract is up, then we must trade 1 of our 2 starting PGs.

My biggest fear is the potential chemistry problems from a backup PG being paid more than twice the salary than the starter.

You can not sign and trade a player that has signed an offer sheet you can match it, and I think they can not be traded for a full year once signed.......unless the player approves the trade.

    Bima.....help !

You have to match it, Lowry will be a force to be reckoned with in the near future. Don't sleep on this guy, he's a legitimate baller.

...how much is lowry really going to be overpaid? Doesnt he deserve 4 mill? This is only 2 mill more, it's not like they doubled it, yes it's a significant amount, but its for a back up PG who can easily come in and start, should anything happen to your starting point. It's higher than expected, but i think it's still within the range they would match, just on the very high end. PG is a pretty important position...

kyle isnt getting 6 first of all the contract is not a straight 4/24

and i would rather pay kyle 6 and have him start

    than brooks 9

its pretty simple morey will package brooks and battier near the deadline for a star and then kyle will start they'll call ishmail smith up to be the backup pg.

at least thats how i see it going down. but i probably can/will be wrong i like brooks but unlike most people here i feel he is overvalued

Again, Lowry made almost double what Brooks made just this past season!

    Ryan Bowen says hello.

    ;)

We can argue this in another thread.....let's just see if the Rox match...I hope they do, and I hope Kyle is happy that they do...

No way I would match and I love Kyle. Thats just too much money for a backup point guard.

Fair enough TYY, I think Brooks is our best player and our biggest mismatch on a nightly basis, so I would rather keep him if push came to shove.

I guess we will see what Morey thinks, but dang it, I wish you were doing your interview TOMORROW instead.....

I know it, But in this case Lowry would accept it, because he wants a starting role
