Fair deal. But how much are you gonna pay your front court? Andy just got $10 mil. Gonna pay Love. Tristan at $12 mil(or more)? Of course he probably thinks he's a max guy(what guy doesn't now days?). And he's LeBron friend(with the same agent), so he'll get paid one way or another. One last thing: based off the one game vs. Chicago, he's definitely worth the max.
Only if $30mil is for Thompson and $15mil is for LeBron. Straight up, who would you rather have? Markieff Morris or Thompson? Patrick Patterson or Thompson? Both of those players signed for a lot less than $12mil/yr.
Seems like it's easier to list the guys who aren't expecting at least 12 million. Tristan Thompson is worth more than Kyle Lowry?
Damn, I like Thompson but that price tag is unreal. Seems like the Cavs are locking in their team before they have any success. They did the same thing the first time they had LeBron; offered crazy contracts to players like Larry Hughes, Mo Williams, Antwan Jamison, etc. See how that ended. They definitely have more talent this time around but it's still too early to lock themselves into these types of contracts before they've had success. Honestly if Varejao goes down or LeBron misses any notable length of time, the Cavs are going to be fringe contender. Cavs are just a horrible franchise, who is lucky only because the greatest player in the world was born in their state.
Worth what someone is willing to pay you right? In today's NBA where prices are going up, yup, $12 mil is more than fair! He should have taken it. He's banking on more.
Prices are going up only for dumb ****ups, you see the spurs balking at giving Kawhi Leonard the max and he's way more legit than Parsons, Hayward and this clown Tristan Thompson. As for the Cavs I don't know why Gilbert keeps getting dumbasses as the GM, the only good move the new FO has made so far is hire Blatt as coach. First they get Wiggins, if they were gonna trade him anyway why not get that PF on the Bucks, or trade the pick to Philly for their pick and other assets? Then when they got Wiggins, why overpay for Love when he already said hes only going to the Cavs? Then after they have Love (PF), varejao(really a pf), Marion (can be a PF) and Lebron (can be a of), so they follow that up with paying Thompson 12M? Lol wtf
That's all this is about. I was a big fan of his at UT but he is the definition of an average player. 11 and 9 in 30 mpg is now worth $12 per? Damn. Good for the players and the NBA.
So they are going to pay Love max money, Irving max money, Lebron super max money, going to give Varejao 10 plus and Thompson 12 million?
All these deals make Harden's deal look like a steal. I know he got the max based on his experience in the league but it is still amazing to put Harden's stats next to his salary and feel great.
