    Are you sure?

The Forbes link had "historical" charts on there for the various stats they use (value, operating income, etc.) A quick glance at the team value for the 1999, 2000 and 2001 Rockets, compared to that of the other teams doesn't seem to suggest they were "top 5" during those years.

They became top five after the toyota center was built. Before it was not because they did not own their own arena, but the Rockets have always been near the top in terms of profit. All those crazy corporate types that pay for seats they don't sit in.

Cavs can't sign Yao anyways, they are over the cap next season.

He said that Alexander asked $500 million for the Rockets in 2002. One could only imagine that since the success of Yao and the Toyota Center Les would be asking for much more now.

As for the hostel comment, he was referring to the belief that James won't leave the Cavs because they've done so much for him. Specifically, building a practice facility, that compared to the Rockets, is like a 5-star hotel compared to a hostel.

He also comments that the Cavs' financial well-being comes not from ticket, merchandise or concession sales, but rather their broadcasting contract.
