The thing is we really don't know what the Rockets offer is. As far as we know it could be Kevin Martin, M.Morris and draft picks, with us taking back one contract.. There really is just no way of knowing. But I would think if Houston were actually offering the promising rooks Orlando would have done the deal already.
I definitely think Martin, our two picks, and either Morris and Patterson are involved. I think someone here mentioned that Morey was willing to give up 1 of our 2012 draft players in the deal as well.
Kind of like Hennigan is in a 4-way ****ing with Kupchak, Morey, B. King, and Chris Grant. In and out and in and out and in and out
Kmart + Patterson + Morris + whatever other scrubs we got from Milwaukee & Knicks + Picks for Dwight + 1 bad contract is good enough for the likes of Orlando.
If it's the Lakers that end up with Howard, I hope it is the Cavs facilitating and not Houston. Bynum is a serious injury risk.
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=bpw92vj This is probably the best the Magic can do if they have the Cavs facilitate. This is really a win-win for everyone. Cavs get an upgrade to the frontcourt, and a legit shooting guard to mentor Waiters and play 6th man. Pacers get a nice contributor for nothing. Lakers get Howard, a replacement for Gasol, and two bench players. Magic get to dump all their big salaries, and get a young player in Tristan Thompson. Honestly, it all comes down to what Orlando wants. If they want a salary dump, they choose the Cavs. If they want young players and/or picks, they include Houston.
Wy are you adding Varajeo's salary from last season, and the team option to make it look like 4 years? While Varajeo isn't more attractive, they do have $16.5M in expiring contracts, Tristan Thompson, Dion Waiters, Tyler Zeller, and 5 future 1st round picks. Anyone who thinks Cleveland can't match us, is biased. Would they pull off a deal like that? Doubtful, without an extension, IMO.
They have more cap space, and $16M in expiring deals. We have $24.7M in expiring deals/team option deals that we can deal. Of course, Lee is technically still hanging out there, and can be sign and traded to Orlando (if he would be interested in a high salary for one guaranteed year), we can also trade him to another team with expirings and use them to go to Orlando. Cap space is more valuable in this case.
We accordingly have all the assets & cap space, but Cleveland is the front runner over us? Orlando taking back Varajeo is a slap in the face to Morey. Had we not amnestied Scola he could be exactly the piece to land Bynum. This couldnt be any worse for Rocket fans
Funny thing is, every last one of those assets in the background are gone LOL but Morey still standing
Relax. Scola here would be a waste and LA wouldn't want Scola unless we were taking back Gasol instead of Bynum. Simmer down.
Scola would never had been waived if Hennigan had expressed any interest in taking him back in the deal.
I'm tired of the drama. Morey needs to move on, and if he monitors what fans are saying, he'll realize most of us already have. The Rockets should have a bit more pride and not allow themselves to be a bargaining chip.
The Cavs have similar assets to us. The Rockets are still the front runner, but that really is due to the fact that Houston is willing to risk being left high and dry.
