Taylor for Diop/McInnis doesn't work, but I would definitely pull the trigger on a Howard for Diop/McInnis deal. Diop can backup at both the 4 and 5 and provide defense, shotblocking and rebounding (basically another Cato). McInnis gives us a starting caliber point.

McInnis is in the last year of his contract. Perhaps they fear he won't re-sign. Mo's contract isn't even out of hand when you take a look around the league at the contracts big men are getting this off season.

I think if we really wanted snow or ollie, we would have just gotten in on the trade as the third team. And it goes against what CD has been saying the other day about trying to get guys on 2 to 3 year contract for roster flexiblity down the road.

Wrong. Towards the end of last year, Silas called him the team MVP. He was able to run the offense and let Lebron play off the ball. He's younger than Snow. I don't think they'll trade Snow. They needed a backup point. Also, Snow and McInnis will be able to play in the back together for stretches if needed.

Exactly! That team fell apart withOUT McInnis, they aren't trading him just because they brought in Snow, he'll be a great backup or tag team with Snow.

which makes this seem like an odd deal. Snow a back up? Well, yes -- unless he or McI is traded.

They're about to talk about the trade on the 6 o'clock news, so I'll keep you guys updated if they tell what our reasons for making the trade are! :)

Isn't there a limited window for moving Snow again, unless Cleveland waits 60 days? Or is there no window after the deal is made.

Ollie's gone and they get Snow... if McInnis is traded, an unlikey event, who is Snow's backup?

That would be an interesting trade. Battie went to Texas Tech. Both will fit well here. We would need a backup to Howard.

Please don't say that. We don't need the alexander jinx for this season.

That seems like a good guess. I hope the Rox are involved. I'd love to get McInnis.

Whoa!!! ..... I didn't realize his numbers were that insane! He'd be perfect here. All i would was is about 10 points from the 1 spot anyways. His 7.5 assists with only 1.9 TO in 35.4 minutes is EXACTLY what this team needs. CD GET ON IT!

I don't mean to urinate in the fruit punch, but doesn't McInnis have a history of not getting along with teammates? I don't know that, but I think I remember reading that attitude is his biggest rap.

As opposed to what....signing Charlie Ward, the Eric Snow talk, etc???

Trust me, FAR worse things could happen to this team than acquiring a talent like McInnis.

I'd go for McInnis/Diop for Taylor too, but I don't think Cleveland is sending out enough salary to get the deal done. JustB, would you do the following:

    Houston trades:
PF Maurice Taylor (11.5 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 1.4 apg in 27.8 minutes)

    Houston receives:
PG Jeff McInnis (11.8 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 6.1 apg in 33.8 minutes)
    C DeSagana Diop (2.3 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 0.6 apg in 13.0 minutes)
SG Kedrick Brown (5.3 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 1.2 apg in 17.6 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +7.9 ppg, +3.5 rpg, and +6.5 apg.

    Cleveland trades:
PG Jeff McInnis (11.8 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 6.1 apg in 33.8 minutes)
    C DeSagana Diop (2.3 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 0.6 apg in 13.0 minutes)
SG Kedrick Brown (5.3 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 1.2 apg in 17.6 minutes)

    Cleveland receives:
PF Maurice Taylor (11.5 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 1.4 apg in 75 games)
Change in team outlook: -7.9 ppg, -3.5 rpg, and -6.5 apg.

    TRADE ACCEPTED

Only problem with all that is Kedrick Brown was sent to the 76ers as part of the Snow trade.
