If they want anyone from us, it's Howard, not MO-T. Let's face it, we are stuck with Spoon and Taylor, but that makes Howard expendible anyway. If I was the Cav's I'd be siked to get Howard at his current contract.
I doubt they would trade McInnis. That guy was perfect for them. He averaged 7.6 assists, shot 38.8% from 3 point land, and his assist-turnover ratio was 4.0 BUT he played a lot of minutes- 35 per game. Lebron James played 39 minutes per game. So I think they just want him as a 3rd quality guard who can give them a good 20 minutes a game.
i dont know about that. Have u seen how much snow is getting paid. Their not gonna pay a backup that much.
I doubt that trading Mo for Snow would be stupid. We are basically substituting one bad contract for another, while filling a need position. Granted, I wouldn't want Snow's contract, but we could probably do worse if we were able to get rid of Mo.
Hrmmmm. Good point, but I would rather risk Lue and keep "6th man Mo" then get Snow with no bonafide scorer off the bench.
You know, some teams value good backups, the Rockets don't look like they do though, but the Cavs are probably planning on keeping him as a great back up.
I just gotta say your attitude toward anything Houston Rockets is wonderful, as always. You've been groomed by the best, edc, Roc Paint, and Hillboy have taught you well. If the Rockets are indeed looking at the Cavs as a possible trade partner then they'd be on the good side of any trade that involves either Mcinnis or Snow. Lets look at the best scenario, which has the Rockets nabbing Mcinnis and Battie for Taylor and Lue or Taylor and TE. One way of looking at a trade like that would be to see Mcinnis replacing Francis, Battie replacing Cato, Howard replacing Taylor, and Mcgrady replacing Mobley. As a fan, we can't ask for anything better than that. Thats as good as it gets. Battie can match Cato's defense, and can rotate over to the center spot. Howard can come off the bench ala Mo Taylor of last year. And Mcinnis, while he may not win a duel with Francis, he can score a draw with him . This is the best trade possibilty out there right now, if it happens, go ahead and start printing out the Rockets championship t-shirts for 2005.
This surprises me actually. Is PG a position of 'need' for the Cavs? To me this means they are afraid of McInnis leaving after this season and want a compitent PG in Snow to be signed long term. And clearly the Cavs were REALLY down on Ollie. I would venture to say that McInnis would be available at the right price right now, especially for a big man.
I think Taylor's contract goes 3 more years, while Snow's contract goes 5 more years. I don't know, seems to me that both are a long way off from expiring. Isn't Mo making a lot more than Snow?
There is no way they trade Battie for Mo Taylor. Paul Silas is a guy who would bench Zydrunas Ilgauskas in the 4th because he didn't play enough defense. And he put in Battie. So no way he favors Mo over Battie.
Let's get McInnis & Battie, but let's see if they will throw in Diop as well. Big body with some good defense, still young enough to groom and get better. With all the bogus foul calls Yao gets, we need all the defensive big bodies we can get.
NO WAY would we give up Battie/McKinnis/Diop, that's too much probably. But I could see a McKinnis/Diop for Taylor deal. That way Cleveland gets a scoring PF, and the Rockets get a good, efficient PG and a strong defensive C that can take some of the pressure off Yao.
