The Lakers shot 29% from the field and only scored 79 points. Is Denver starting to play defense now?

I watched the second half. The Nuggets basically did what the Rockets did to Lebron last night. They packed the lane and made the Lakers totally dependent on jumpshots. The Nuggets are to inconsistent to be considered a threat.

Im not sure they have enough size to compete. Their bigs are athletic but not really defensive anchors.

Toss up? Spurs are heavily favored. Only way we win is if duncan rolls an ankle.

Why do you say that? We have matched up pretty well with the Spurs the past two years.

Yao and Duncan cancel eachother out, and Battier can defend manu. The key would be bench play and controlling tony parker.

I agree with that, but Gasol is a soft 7 foot and Odom relies on his outside jumper to much sometimes. The Lakers are vulnerable without Bynum. At the same time without Yao in the lineup we are small. So if Yao gets in foul trouble your saying we are screwed. I dont believe that though. I think Denver needs to play defense consistently to be effective in the playoffs but they just dont know how to do that.

Yes, Rockets have the talents. They can beat the lakers. For spurs/Jazz, probably it will be decided in the last minute play of the 7th game which the small thing, the expeirences count most. I do believe that keeping Rafer will give rockets much better chance to win it all this year.

I think you're wrong, on both fronts.

Remember the night of Jan. 13. We can win every night if we play like that.

That Denver win was bad for us. I was sure we'd gain a half game on them.

It is very hard for us to beat Spurs or Lakers.

The Rox matchup well with Sa regardless. Its better with La without Bynum, but the fact that La will always have the best player on the floor and a guy we have no matchup for and if yao gets into any foul trouble, the rox can't win. Its just too many if when facing La. They should also duck Utah at all cost.

I meant in a playoff series...the Rockets match up VERY well against the Spurs.

We won't beat the Lakers in a 7 game series, but EVERY other team in the West is fair game. We match up very well with all those teams IMO. Even with the Lakers we may have an outside shot with a healthy McGrady.

I think we are good enough to make a serious run. As long as we avoid the Lakers until the WCF, I have to say either get to the semifinals or this season is a bust. The West is very weak and does not have any real quality teams outside of the Lakers. The Rockets in my mind are the second best team in the West, and third best team in league (behind Boston and LA). Magic and Cavs are posers and we would crush both in a 7 game series. They are the ultimate pretenders.

So just take it one day at a time and let the rest work itself out.

Us having a chance against the Spurs has nothing to do with the fact that they got blown out by Cleveland and we beat Cleveland.

Us having a chance against the Lakers has nothing to do with the fact that they got beat by the Nuggets and we beat the Nuggets.

    That logic is so flawed.

the year they lost in the conference finals, they had the 6th best defense (and 2nd best the next year). and on offense they had a ton of shooters and 2 of the best passing big men ever.
