Dude, got it wrong. Feigen replied on his blog that he thinks Battier and Scola could be the players involved in a 2 for 1 deal.
Listen, I want Bosh in Houston more than anyone, but you guys have got to realize that this is in Chris' hands and his agent. All signs are pointing to the fact that him & Wade are a package, and that THEY WILL PLAY TOGETHER next season, and they will get it done. Toronto has said that they are working on S&T's with teams such as the Heat and Chicago. Meaning that it IS possible because they are working to get it done. So unless Bosh discovers Clutchfans and the importance of joining the Rockets for his career and future, he'll either be a Bull or a Heat at the end of this FA. All signs pointing to the Heat because the Bulls will need to attract Wade + ship out Noah.
http://blogs.chron.com/nba/2010/07/a_stat_of_something_in_new_yor.html To me, that sounds like the Rox/Raptors deal is ready to go whenever Bosh says he is ready to become a Rocket.
I have a question though. What are the rules on S&T? Do the salaries have to match up or could one team give up a bigger contract to get cap space? For example, could we trade like Scola, Battier, Jeffries, and picks for Bosh and Hedo? The salaries we're giving up amount at about roughly $20m compared to Toronto giving up about roughly $32m.
Ric Bucher: Not sure where the idea Tor won't S&T w/Mia came from, but it's not true. Calderon/Bosh for Chalmers, 2 future 1sts + trade exception: done.
May well happen. However, my question is whether getting Bosh is an absolute requirement for retaining Wade. That is, would Wade be OK with returning to a Miami team with Boozer or Lee and other pieces? If Wade is not in "Bosh or Bust" mode (and Lebron, according to yahoo's Wojo, isn't), then Pat Riley would have to seriously consider whether the difference for them between Bosh and an alternate FA big (Lee or Boozer) is worth both the price difference and the assets (for example, the 2 1st rounders and eating Calderon's deal in the scenario Bucher outlined) they'd have to give up in a S&T.
Yikes looks like he has made a decision. Judging by his elation, it seems like Toronto has finally come to an agreement on a S&T with Miami to pair Bosh with Wade.
According to realgm Heat are going after Boozer and Krover. Heat are attempting to trade Jermaine O'neal for Carlos Boozer.
If by some chance that the BULLS can give two max deals through SnT....why cant the Rockets do the same???? The Rockets have 11 players under contract (not including Yao, Lowry and Scola) with clearly more assets than Miami and Chicago COMBINED...is there the SLIGHTEST possibility that maybe the ROCKETS can make a run at BOTH Bosh and Wade (worth approx $34 mil combined)??? We can use Battier, Hill, Jeffries, Andersen, Brooks, Budinger, Martin, and Ariza (any combo - worth total of $35 mil) for SnT with Toronto and Miami. We can re-sign Lowry and Scola. Use our MLE to bring over Miller and others. Its not a bad place to start building with: Lowry Wade (FA Signing) Bosh Yao OK... i'll go ahead and wake up now....
I don't see any other options for the Bosh/Wade package other than Miami and the Nets. Wade isn't going to take less than the max and Chicago can't sign and trade for both of them.
Exactly, and that's the main reason I think Miami and Chicago are low-balling on their S&T offers. They don't need Bosh. Boozer + whatever they have to give up > Bosh, especially if the Raptors are trying to get their potential lotto pick back. It makes perfect sense that Miami isn't including that pick. I still think we are 3rd behind both Miami and Chicago because I don't see Toronto just letting Bosh walk for nothing, no matter how much they talk. I see them at least taking some draft picks and a big TE. My only hope is that Mia and Chi decide Bosh isn't worth giving up much for.
