I can assure you that Miami does have what it takes to get a deal done. Especially if Bosh tells Toronto: I'm going to Miami, lets get it done. And especially if Toronto were interested in freakin Varejao and his AWFUL contract. Miami has: Beasley, Chalmers, Toronto's 1st round pick, future 1st's, 2nd's, cash, etc. Thats enough. Trust me they are just trying to milk the cow to get some more assets in a S&T. ALOT of disinformation going around right now.
IMO I still believe that doesn't even come close to what the Rockets can over... Beasley and Chalmers Ariza and Budinger are both better than them
Obviously the Rockets have way more to offer to Toronto, especially the fact that somehow (starting to wonder if this was done on purpose) Morey has gathered all these assets that Toronto likes. HOWEVER, Toronto has almost nothing to say here, and can't force Bosh to go to Houston.
Toronto would rather let Bosh walk for nothing than get stuck with contracts they don't want. They've said they will only do a sign & trade if it makes sense to them.
So what type of package can Houston offer that will appeal to Toronto without gutting the Rockets roster?
Then they will let him walk.. Or get a pick or two in return. What would you prefer? Nada or a pick? I sure know what I would want. IMO Toronto should have went the Cleveland way, aka "no s&t". They would have gotten way more leverage out of all this.
This is DM and Colangelo we're talking about here. Everyone knows that Bosh wants the 6 yr max. Toronto can use this against him. Beasley and Chalmers?? Beasley is a headcase and Chalmers is average at best. Winner winner chicken dinner!
According to Feigen the deal has already been agreed to, Scola and Battier plus picks would get it done and all Bosh has to say is I WANT TO GO TO HOUSTON.
If Bosh and Wade team up in Miami, get ready for a wave of over the hill vets to sign for the minimum for one last shot at a ring.
Beasley will still be a decent scoring option and Chalmers can eventually start for that Toronto team. But most importantly is that Toronto pick. They had the 13th pick THIS year WITH Bosh. How do you think they will perform in the future without him? I think they would love to get there pick back.
If those picks were going to be high draft picks, I would agree with you. However, chances are that they're going to be low picks so why would they commit millions of dollars to players you dont want just to get a 20 plus pick?
As I wrote in a comment above, Miami would send Toronto's pick back there way. Toronto had the 13th this year with Bosh. In the future without Bosh? Look for them to climb that latter into the top 5...
Picks are a moot point bc our pick(s) are just as attractive. It's not even close on the players though. Scola (?) & Battier would dwarf Beasley & Chalmers. Plus, they've gone on record saying that Miami doesn't have the players they are interested in. Beating a dead horse continues!
I think that's because Miami is probably only currently offering players (i.e., Beasley, etc.). Toronto is holding out for the Toronto pick that they traded to Miami the previous year. If Miami caves on that, then I think Raps Miami is a done deal.
