I know Clutch wouldn't stoop to that level just to satisfy you. He knows you are an attention w**** and in general he ignores you, so I seriously doubt he would even take the time to appease you by looking at IP addresses just for a silly signature bet. Plus, DD I thought you were a techie, you know IP addresses don't tell the whole story, you may have 100 people here with similar IP addresses if their ISP uses a shared type IP or if you post from a corporation that uses the same IP to get an outside connection.

And I think if Jeff were still around, you'd probably be given a timeout for starting this thread at the time you did, with a member's cat dying. I still think a timeout should be considered. Even though you appear to be a grown man, you need to be treated like the child you are.

Wow. Earlier in this thread you said that wasn't the case. Fraud?

So, that is a no then on the bet?

And I am enough of a techie to konw that an IP addy is unique to one household etc.....

And even if you are using a different computer in that household run through a router, it would still have the same external IP address.

Are you taking the bet, or are you lying about being banned before?

Here is your chance to prove me wrong....come on Rook.....pick up the ball and play.....

Look, it's not irresponsible to let your cat roam free in a city with no leash laws. There's no responsibility on the owner, other than common decency. Inconsiderate, maybe, but irresponsible, no.

And it's not inhumane to trap a cat and take it to the Humane Society. If it's feral, trapping/neutering is the best option for everyone; if it's a pet and has tags, not calling the owner lacks common decency. Inconsiderate, maybe, but inhumane, no.

Really, this thread went way too far on both sides, and has blown past the actual topic. There's about 6 people (3 from each side) that are taking this way too far. Pretty soon you guys will incite another, and that number will grow...

This is no longer Hangout material.

That is fair enough, I would say trapping the cat and not calling the owner is as inconsiderate as letting the cat out of the house and into the neighborhood.

It is all one big old incosiderate battle.

Though the fact that letting your cat outside significantly lessons their lifespan seems irresponsible to me, though that is a matter of opinion.

Reading comments in this thread gives you a good idea of peoples age and whether they have children.

Dada -- As the KingKitty himself stated, cats do not poop on your sidewalk or lawn. If you are stepping in poop that you think is from a cat -- it's probably from one of those froufrou toy dogs that represent the lesser of both cats and dogs. But if they are digging up your flowerbeds or veggie gardens you simply have to catproof them. Just as you would if you had racoons, possums, or bears in your neighbourhood.

There are electric fences you can buy -- and if you set the voltage high enough -- cats will actually get air when they touch the first time. That should appeal to you. They don't go back! And they are not harmed.

You cannot train a cat to stay in its own yard. Just as you can't train a dog to bury its poop, or bathe itself, or stop eating when it's full. So welcome to the world of suburbia. Dogs bark, kids laugh, lawnmowers roar on Saturdays. And cats roam.

Dogs and kids tend to make a lot more racket then cats. If a cat has not been fixed and is spraying far too much -- talk to your neighbour about it. If you don't know your neighbours well enough to know whose cat it is, or to talk to them about the cat -- then your problem goes much deeper then the cat. But be reasonable about it.

Or move to a condo with a very strict strata council and seal it up, so you never see animals playing, hear birds singing, or kids, other then your own, laughing. Unless you expressly authorize it. Sounds like a miserable existence to me. But there'll be no cat paws on your car, bird crap on your windshield, or those fiendish felines running about in your yard.

This may very well be the funniest post in this entire thread. So simple and succinct.

And the timing…the timing is just about perfect. Or I guess I should say puuuurrrrfect…

Here is a great use of cats

Inventor turns dead cats into diesel

A German inventor says he's found a way to make cheap diesel fuel out of dead cats.

Dr Christian Koch, 55, from Kleinhartmannsdorf, said his method uses old tyres, weeds and animal cadavers.

They are heated up to 300 Celsius to filter out hydrocarbon which is then turned into diesel by a catalytic converter.

He said the resulting "high quality bio-diesel" costs just 15 pence per litre.

Koch said the cadaver of a fully grown cat can produce 2.5 litres of fuel - meaning around 20 cats are needed for a full tank.

He said: "I tank my car with my own diesel mixture and have driven it for 105,000 miles without any problems."

    -----------------------------------------------

Maybe they are not so bad after all...

    ;)

Classy. You are aware that we have a member here who is very upset about losing his cat, right? You are clearly you doing this garbage on purpose. I hope he isn't reading this thread. You say you don't want your kids to read this board due to the cursing? What if they read about how big of a jerk their father really is? Your kids would be so pround of you DD.

Take the bet. Don't be afraid...you could own my sig for 2 weeks.

Stop trying to make it like I am making fun of a guy who is grieving for his pet, clearly that is not the case, but it did get me to thinking about the cats that are a nuicanse in our neighborhood because of owners who let them out without thinking of their neighbors.
