Wow this thread has really turned. You have an internet lunitic threatening to kill people and their families, sending emails to set up this event, because he doesn't think he should be responsible for his pet. Yet, he thinks I should be responsible for my more viscious animals. Really stupidity, good job ottoman. You are the Shizzy, bra. You are definately a hardcore mofo, or more likely a ***** with a keyboard. As I said before I will happily haul your cat to the pound for you.
Then, you have catowners saying you should just accept damage to your property because you should expect it from their cats. If you complain you are a whiner because it is not the biggest problem in your life. For real, what happenned to respect for your fellow man and his property? We are the bad people, because your cats are taking over our yard? Really? You cat people need to really think this through and evaluate your position and quit talking on blind emotion for your precious kitties. You really should have no problem either if it disappears. If you haven't noticed your cat missing for weeks, you weren't taking care of it anyways.

At least you'll know exactly where to go look and you won't have to spend your time putting up posters all over town.

This is probably the worst argued the thread I've ever seen in the BBS, which is why it's managed to go so long. I have to agree that it appears to be the cat-lovers emotions causing them to dismiss a perfectly rational argument that someone may not not want animals on their property.

If there are steps that can be taken without directly causing harm to the animal, then the owner has the right to pursue them. Calling the SPCA is not harming the animal, and in many cases may be helping it.

Bottom line, if you truly care for your cat's safety you should not let it out to roam freely.

Yeah, I can't believe this thread is still alive myself. The answer is only three letters long.

You could change the word cats to teenagers and the argument would still hold true. Do you want to round up teenagers and send them to a shelter.

Lol. Ok, y'all have convinced me.

Cat owners are idiots. I'm going to buy a BB gun and some traps. Y'all don't deserve to have them, and obviously you'll just find another stray until I kill that one, also.

I only wish I wasn't in a hi-rise. I guess I'll only be able to get them on the weekends.

Way to go, cat people. You've single-handedly cost your precious species a few.

I love how FFB keeps posting (what he thinks are) PROVOCATIVE posts and videos hoping to get a reaction -- but everyone is too busy with their own arguments to even acknowledge them.

It’s probably KILLING him inside. :D

Not at all. I really don't like cats. And I really enjoy making fun of people who do.

If cats could read, they would be laughing at this thread, too.

Actually it may be best to trap those cats. If they aren't fixed then it will cause more problems. I don't like the fact that they will go to a shelter to die. There are other options that don't involve death.

    Just something to consider.

And other than my post here and ima's post, you go ahead and keep making fun of people who like cats and people will keep ignoring you. But rest assured, we will be ready to make fun of you when you post the next drunken, lost my class ring thread on this board. :p

You would cream in your pants, admit it, if you had a thread that was on the first page of any forum here and had over 30,000 views because let's face it, this place is very important to you maybe the most important thing in your life (which is really sad but that is a whole other story).

And maybe if you got a cat and actually tried to bond with it, then you would see your life is much more than posting on the clutchfans BBS. And this is coming from someone who never dreamed they would own a cat (I was an avowed dog lover and cat hater). Now, I want to own a cat until the day I die - they just like dogs are special animals.

There are basically two factions, it seems.

    (1) People who are possessive of their property and are ready to deal with anything that they deem shouldn't be there.

    (2) People who think that the type described in #1 are ridiculous.

    I'm type #2.

the reason why cat owners are being so defensive in this thread is because of the inflammatory nature in which the thread was started and the cruel spirit that continues to waft through here, flamed by a few inhumane creatures who want to show their manhood not only on the Internet but in their front yard.

I've read every stat and every cat disease listed here, and I've also read the arguments of every single person who had a bad experience and for me the bottom line has been listed over and over by responsible pet owners whose responsible decisions are being overlooked by a few kooks who have stray cats in their yard.

I guess I was just blessed to have grown up in a neighborhood that never once had the SPCA need to be called to take care of a cat problem. neighbors care for each other and the cats in the neighborhood are loved by their owners and neighbors alike...

as Dada mentioned, there are more important things in life, but that doesn't mean I lost a level of respect for a few board members here during the duration of this thread.

anything to keep the toug guy image alive.

    T-man is the funniest though.

You and I both. Perhaps that's why I can't see the menace that others are claiming roaming house cats to be.
