Cats know better than to do any of that crap. They are inherently more independent and cautious than dogs, and they know how to avoid danger.

If I still had a dog, there are so many things that I would have to do to protect it from itself that aren't even on the radar when it comes to cats. The average cats won’t commit suicide if you leave too many chocolate bars out, for instance. What I would need to do to protect a dog from itself doesn't translate to cats.

I was not calling you whiny. That was for CrazyJoewhatever.

Again, I get your point. I'm probably a lot like you in that I value my possessions. My parents both grew up dirt poor so I was brought up to make everything I own last as long as possible and look good as long as possible. I park my car at the end of the parking lot away from other cars in order to avoid door dents. I wash my car pretty often and get it detailed now and again.

But when little things do happen that are beyond my control or are not worth the time I just let it go. I expect my car will get a few scratches, a few rock chips and some other damage. Worrying doesn't help so I don't and I don't blame the cat or the owner. I just chalk it up to having neighbors. I do the same thing when the neighbor's honey suckle vine covers my back fence attracting bees to which I am allergic to when stung. I just chop the vine when the bees aren't out and figure that's part of sharing a fence with other people.

$900 what? Now we are talking about an issue I would get fired up over no matter what is was if it cost $900. That's a far cry from cat prints on a car or a small scratch on kid's hand (sorry but that just isn't a big deal to me but I was raised in the country so I had some sort of bite, scratch or scrape on me at all times).

Wait...your poor parents taught you to value material goods?

Never thought I'd see so many replies for a topic like this.

You are whining about bee stings. That makes you a whiner too.

So bees are a nuisance to you, so you do what you can to remedy it? Wow. Exactly what some of us have been saying.

A mattress. A brand new mattress that I was holding in my garage until the next day when I had time to switch it out. My neighbor's cat crapped all over it because it got trapped in my garage (unknown to me). My neighbor (not the good one) said it wasn't his problem, even though this cat clearly belonged to him. He said I should have checked my garage before I closed it for the night since I knew his cat was in my garage sometimes.

I mean really, the nerve of that statement.

I guess exercising dominion over a 7 to 10 pound cat makes you feel like a tough guy.

I reiterate, if I ever caught you doing that to one of my cats, I would afford you the opportunity to try to bully somebody much bigger than a cat.

Sometimes house cats get out. Over the last 3 years, there have been 3 or 4 times where a cat darts out of the house as we are going to the backyard. The cat is gone for a day then comes home.

If you trap a cat that has a collar and tags and send it to the pound...that pretty much makes you a dick.

Lol. Typical cat person vs. dog person response.

Newsflash, Einstein: Cat's are still pretty stupid. I give you this:

You probably missed this post I made to Batman Jones (please read).

If you still think I'm a dick.... I really don't care what names you call me - I'm not in the third grade.

Honestly, I don't have much more to say. If your cat disappears, check with the SPCA - I might have turned it in (unharmed and with a belly full of yummy tuna). You'll have to pay a fine.

The fact that you won't even own the fact that you are sending off the cats to die is perhaps the most offensive part of your depraved indifference.

I guess Nazi guards who loaded prisoners onto trains to Treblinka were just giving Jews a nice healthy train ride and have nothing to feel bad about, right?

    Wow. What drama!

When the SPCA gets the cat, one of four things happens
    either
    (1) They contact the owner (assuming the cat has tags) and tell them to pick it up
    (2) They wait for the owner to claim it
    (3) They let another family adopt the cat
    or
    (4) They humanely kill the cat

I really don't care what they do with it.

    That pretty much covers it.

You send it to be killed, and you don't care.

    I did miss that.

And sorry for missing it, but please list the bad things these cats do to you, so I can understand your side.

What search function rook? Or are you one of those people that have been banned for being a jerk, and are now back?

Maybe I just wanted a break from all those ground breaking "hey what music are you guys listening to these days" threads.

You two should get a room with your cats......

Yup. Do you expect other people to care about what happens to your cat? That's YOUR responsibility as its owner.

If you don't like what the SPCA does with cats, talk to them about it.

By the way, I have followed the SPCA's recommendations specifically.

And yet, you find it ok to shoot a guy for sending your pet to the pound....

    Oh the irony.

Again, if you take my cat, I will show you and your family exactly the same respect.
