Confident post for #11000 HeyPard. For what it's worth, I agree with you. I think we are going to showcase MoT as an offensive threat and trade him for an expiring contract - hopefully one that bolsters our playoff hopes this year. Any ideas?

    A future lineup like this:

    C: Ming, Cato, Griffin
    PF: Griffin, KT, TMo
    SF: KT, Nachbar, Tmo, Hawkins
    SG: Cuttino, Hawkins
    PG: Steve, Moochie

could be balanced both offensively and defensively, and it includes many multi-position players.

Rice is in the plans too. I think they'll end up resigning him for less after this contract. Rudy loves the guy...

So what's going to be our starting lineup for the first game?

Well, thank goodness the Pacers only have 2 bangers (Harrington & Miller) to worry about. They're not the most physical team, that's for sure.

Looks like Boki sees a little time at the 4.

Man, I hope the new offensive approach is working tonight. The Rocks can't get into a rebounding contest so they're going to have to look for the highest percentage shots possible.

No ISO-like, 1 shot & done offense tonight, move the ball, scramble the defense, take good shots.

And please Eddie, stay out of foul trouble (which he usually does, anyway).

KT needs to get back. As far as playing time, he has never figured into the rotation favorably but he always seems to work his way into it. Maybe his great aunt is a witch and makes all these injuries come around!

I love KT, he had the most heart of anyone on the team last year. He is a scrapper and the rest of the guys could learn a thing or two from him.

I'll take an overacheiver over an underacheiver anyday.

Sane, since I have no life.... :p

    Center: Yao - 24, Cato - 12, Eddie - 6, Mo T - 6
    PF: Eddie - 18, Mo T - 18, KT - 12
    SF: Rice - 18, KT - 12 - TMo - 12, Boki - 6
    SG: Cat - 30, Steve - 6, Rice - 6, Hawk - 6
    PG: Steve - 24, Mooch - 24

    Minutes per Player:
    Steve - 30
    Cat - 30
    Mooch - 24
    Rice - 24
    KT - 24
    TMo - 12
    Boki - 6
    Eddie - 24
    Mo T - 24
    Yao - 24
    Cato - 12
    Hawk - 6

Okay, so let me be the first to say this would never happen. But is it that far off? Give Boki's minutes at SF to KT, and KT's minutes at PF to Eddie and/or Mo T. What about now?

The depth chart at SF is Rice, KT, TMo, Boki.

I disagree that Boki needs minutes. Boki will get minutes if Rice or TMo can't produce. But if Rice and TMo can produce, what can Boki do that they can't? The guy's got a long-term rookie contract; he's not going anywhere. Let him pay his dues while Rice is here if Rice can still put out. I don't include KT, because in my mind, it's not a question of whether he can produce. He's proved it over the years.

I'd like to see TMo get more minutes, but Rice's and KT's minutes are theirs to lose. They're older, more experienced, more senior, and more proven. If they can't cut it, then we talk.

Long-term, I agree that one of KT, TMo, Nachbar, Griff, and Mo T have to go or be resigned to garbage minutes. I think there's enough minutes for Yao and four forwards in the frontcourt, but that's it. That would come out to 28.8 minutes apiece. I think that's enough to satisfy anyone, and these guys seem flexible enough to make it work on the court. I don't see it being Griff or Mo T. I think it's going to come down to KT or TMo, maybe Nachbar but unlikely. Both KT and Tmo would have to make themselves indispensable or Boki would have to be a complete bust for Boki to go on the block.
