Maybe because he's a good kid and a player for the basketball team in that town. Why are you a flaming anti-semite?

he is the first Israeli born NBA player. while he isn't the only Jew in the NBA, he is a member of a small fraternity...

I don't understand the "It's California" comments, so I would like someone to explain it.

is it because there are larger populations of Jews in California that would warrant hate crimes against them?

or there are more bigots in Northern California, and it is understandable?

    Please someone elaborate here.

    someone from Texas, specifically.

Im about as anti-semite as jews are anti-gentile, I would think to have a mural it should take more than being Israel. We have a large chinese population in Houston and Yao doesnt have a mural (That I know of) Im not a fan of nationalism rather your American or not. We are all one peolpe! EARN YOUR SHRINES!

I believe it's a mural of multiple players.

I got the point. I think to publicize something that was probably done by some dumb kid ( i.e the symbol being backwards) just makes things worst. Racism works just like the entertainment industry, any press is good press! Thats why it happened twice instead of only once. Expect more of the same.

maybe the vandals meant to bless him with good luck? or meant it as a symbol of the evolution of the NBA? why does everyone assume the vandals are meaning harm and "stupid"?

The word swastika is derived from the Sanskrit word svastika (in Devanagari स्वस्तिक ), meaning any lucky or auspicious object, and in particular a mark made on persons and things to denote good luck. It is composed of su- meaning "good, well" and asti "to be" svasti thus means "well-being." The suffix -ka either forms a diminutive or intensifies the verbal meaning, and svastika might thus be translated literally as "that which is associated with well-being," corresponding to "lucky charm" or "thing that is auspicious."[1]

It's disgusting. It doesn't matter if it's some dumb kid or a legit Neo-Nazi. It's still defacing a picture of him based on his race.

You can't compare that to calling a black NBA player a "thug". That has nothing to do with race, however i understand the implications. You can call Birdman a thug, but he's white. So how is that racist?
