I'd take Latrell Sprewell for the LLE. He would would not be my 1st choice(Finley), but Spree has played with JVG before, so he might fit in better.

I personally would LOVE to see sprewell in a rockets uni. When all you have is the LLE, ANYBODY you can get that can have any kind of impact is a huge bonus.

I think on paper spree seems to be a good opportunity to take advantage of if he comes. But what worries me is that given his history on what he believes he was worth, it's obvious he has some issues with his ego. We really dont need any egos in houston. Remember Pippen? He has experienced great successes on other teamsat his peak. He may be well on the down side of his career and he must realize that if he were to come to houston, he is not going to be the man. He will need to take open jumbers, finish on the break, and occdaionally initiate offense when opposition is focusing too much on either Yao or Tracy. H e will be a 3rd or 4rth option. So I hope that if he does come here, we dont hear him complaining about touches. The good thing is that JVG is excellent at getting players to get into their roles and play in manner that gives the team the best opportunity to win. I tend to lean more toward Derrick Anderson, not only because of the age difference but also because he started with a team that was all about winning with hard nosed defense and old fashioned collective team-play. This was where he made a name for himself. I say...can DA...come here to play?

I just went there to read what he said. The guy is a moron. He said Baker makes 7.4M and Ward makes 5.6M. This year! Then he goes on to say the Rockets will have cap space to sign Peja or Jason Terry next offseason. The guy doesn't know diddly about the CBA as all of the above is pure fiction.

I'm glad this isn't happening. Spree had game, but the best of it is gone by, and most importantly, he was on a team with KG as a role player, and after they have one good season, he was a bitterman about how many "touches" he was getting...

I don't think he'll get any more "touches" here than he did there... and I doubt he's a better player now than before, so... given his history, I'm glad it didn't work out that he'd come here.

I just thought I'd chime in on the "I'm glad it didn't happen" side.

    heh...yep

It dont take a Rocket scientist to figure out the guy at hoopscrap dont have a clue.
iirc, he was saying we would be paying 13M to Spree...using 2 players in a SnT...I went thru an looked at our salaries, and fiured out there wasnt any way we were doing that short of sending Tmac or more than 3 players.

For some reaon he seems to read the 2 yr 7.4M salary of Baker as a one year.

we dont have any salaries higher than 5.5M left...besides the obvious fact that there aint no way CD pays SPree that much...we have worked so hard to get out from under large longterm contracts...and we are supposed to just turn around and sign another one for a guy that is 2 or 3 years from being out of this league?

    Aint happening
