Sam could always ball, staying healthy is going to be his real challenge.

There's no use disagreeing with tinman. If he likes a player, he can do no wrong. If he dislikes a player, then he's satan incarnate. ;)

Either way, his opinions of said players will never change even if you make logical arguments. If you make a really compelling argument and tinman runs out of things to say, he'll inevitably resort to his four-step coping mechanism:

    1. Call you an idiot,
    2. Make fun of your moniker,
    3. Post stupid (yet somewhat funny) pictures that only remotely have anything to do with your moniker.
    4. Make fun of your moniker some more. :p

If I remember correctly, It wasn't just a moving screen but a total bearhug by Karla Malone on Drexler that left Stockton open for the three.

Sam is a gamer, no question. It will be interesting though to see if he can stay healthy this year. And more importantly as the season goes on, see how Mobley/Cassell do sharing the ball with low post threat, Elton Brand. And then there's Cory Maggette's shots. They have scoring on that team. If they can play defense and play unselfishly, they can be tough on any given night.

Maybe the Clippers are the best team in California. ;)

    Clipper FGA/game so far:
    Cassell 19 (47% shooting)
    Cat 12 (38%)
    Brand 12 (42%)
    Singleton 8.5 (65%)
    D Ewing 6.5 (46%)

So far so good. Cat and Brand need to up their shooting percentage. It will be interesting to see how things go once Maggette returns from the hammy.

Talk about revisionist history. Cassell was causing all kind of crap over his contract, which is par for the course with him. Notice how things like that are conveniently forgotten after one good game.

Yeah, but Cassell was a real chucker in this one - 5-19 FG. Sucked for my fantasy team.

Los Angeles, trying to end an eight-year postseason drought, is off to a fresh start in its third season under coach Mike Dunleavy. So is Cassell, who spent a tumultuous 2004-05 season with the Timberwolves that was soured by a contract dispute in training camp and a hamstring injury that limited him to a career-low 59 games.

"He's been terrific," Dunleavy said. "He's brought, obviously, his ability to play on the court. But the intangibles in the locker room have really been beyond my expectations -- how easily he's integrated with our group and how good our chemistry is with him.

"He's an extremely smart player on the floor, and that translates very well with our players," Dunleavy added. "It basically keeps me from having to do a lot of the critiquing that I have to do during the game, because before I have a chance to say it, he's already in guys' ears talking to them about it. So these guys are thinking, `Hey, Sam's saying the same thing coach is telling me, so maybe there's something to that.' So it's a real positive."
