Wanted to post some observations after 3 games. First of all - WOW! He is performing even better than I expected! I keep telling myself it’s only the Summer League, but it’s hard to not get too excited. With that said, Tari is the type of player that usually does well in SL (high energy/athletic) as teams don’t game plan and your IQ doesn’t matter as much. I would temper expectations for the regular reason this year. He will make plenty of mistakes and that’s okay! Defense -Defense was off the charts. We saw his high IQ on defense, especially in ISO situations. Missed a couple rotations and gambled at times, but overall very impressive. I expected him to gamble much more, so this is a great surprise. -Has potential to guard 1-5 -He may struggle with reading offensive sets in the beginning, but he is so long/athletic that he can cover most mistakes Offense -He really has no left hand, his form isn’t good, and he is turnover prone, especially as the ball handler on fast breaks (behind the back dribble was nice though) - none of this will matter if he can shoot and play within his role -Often tries to do too much on offense -Has potential to be elite on fast breaks off-ball (although he did make a few good passes on fast breaks) -Has some shot creation ability and change of pace moves, but not currently at NBA level Ways to Maximize Talent -Pass the ball immediately after defensive rebound and flank ball handler -Park on the right side of the floor, but not necessarily right corner. He shot 24% from left side compared to 36% on right side per CBB Analytics -Unless you’re shooting a 3 or under the rim, pass the ball on offense -Do NOT listen to haters and keep driving right (if forced to dribble). Shot 44% when driving right compared to 31% after driving left per InStat
You nailed it dude. I was sold since your write up. These next 5+ years are going to be fun to watch. I don’t think we could have manifested a better draft.
Haha this may actually be true. For someone that's been around the game so long, Bill Simmons seems to not know that much about the NBA. Suggesting Herb Jones over Jalen Green? Come on man, that's plain hating. It's also crazy for him to suggest trades that can't even happen. Would benefit from doing more homework and watching more games.
@Medicine N Music which prospect do you like better: Sengun or Eason? To be more precise, who will be more valuable to an NBA team in 5 years
Is this question really necessary? There is division on CF enough as it is. Now you're trying to set Medicine vs Music too?
